Man, I'd just like to see ONE skit (just one) of RVD and Kane playing Smackdown or No Mercy or Wrestlemania, it doesn't matter... in a 3 way vs. HHH and they just take turns pinning him and high 5ing each-other and then the camera turns around to show a huge line of guys waiting for their turn...

Bwhahahha! That would be gold. It works both ways too. With smarks, because of the obvious, and with marks because HHH is a super heel who always cheats to win, blah,blah, blah.

Although finding out that Sakura reads Gamepro, my opinion of her taste drops through the floor yet again.

 

This was like, 5 years ago. They were talking about Warzone for PSX. I used to subscribe to them, Ultra Game Players, EGM, EGM 2/Expert Gamer, Next Gen and then PSM. All I get now is PSM and EGM.

 

 

I give Gamepro credit though, their MK II coverage in 92/93 was the best.

Eh, 5 years age they were crap too. They were pretty damn good until around the time they stopped making the pull out guides and great strategies.

 

Now they bag their mags at the stands (translation: we don't want you to see how bad this issues sucks and just read the good stuff and not buy this issue). The writing and reviews are terrible, biased, and influenced by advertising dollars.

 

Oh, and their letter art contest was won one month by a reader who TRACED CAITLIN FAIRCHILD from Gen-X, gave her blond hair, and passed her off as Sarah from Virtua Fighter. Ugh.

I agree. Their reviews and most of their content was never that good to begin with, but they had cool pull out guides for the latest fighting games. Remember the great MK II coverage? Always had interviews from Boon and Tobias. They had the cool guide for Primal Rage, Super Turbo, and what not.

 

I haven't read them in like years.

Yeah, the reviews were always kinda iffy, but remember that AWESOME pull out for Super SFII Turbo? It had combos for all skill levels, ranking of the characters, and the official Capcom art used in the endings! You could pull it out and study that sucker--I really wish I still had that. I think they even included the "Super" codes for it.

 

Yet, Gamepro lives on and Gamefan is dead. Ugh...

It's subtle, but a lot of what he says and does seems to support it.

I owned MKII, but I got it taken away from me cause it had excessive violence... So if you're like 12, and your mom has issues with torso ripping, don't show her Shang Tsungs finisher which involves holding down ( B ) for 30 seconds without getting hit and then turns into Goro who then proceeds to smash your opponents upperbody off from the waist... Cause that shit will offend. I got it taken away from me for like a month, man. I learned a lot of things in that month... Like not to show mom MK Fatalities. Let my mistake prevent you from living it.

And poor Reptile dead last. Yup, I remember that vaguely, but wasn't into MK at the time.

I'm pretty sure it was Goro. But then again, that was a long time ago. Whatever. The thing that matters is that we all found what we were looking for.... Unapologetic and Gratuitious Violence that only a 2d based video game could provide.

I've had MK II for SNES, Genesis, 32X, Gameboy, Gamegear, PC and I have the arcade version of it in my home.

 

The hoss in question is Kintaro.

 

 

You cannot "whatever" MK characters. It is VERY important. "Whatevering" the difference between Kintaro and Goro is like Ross saying Christian is Edge!
