What purpose does suspending the very principles of our country -- that is, open debate and contructive criticism -- prove? How does giving the president a three day reprieve (while he shamelessly tours around the country fundraising) honor the victims of 9/11?

Oh, I'm so fucking sorry. I didn't realise that unfavourably comparing the PRESIDENT to a COMEDIAN ("it will make him look even stupider by comparison") was "constructive criticism." As for why you and your ilk should shut your ignorant mouths, well, I thought it might do you some good to contemplate the principles on which this country was founded for a couple of days. Y'know, what with Independence Day coming up and all. (You know what Independence Day is, right? No, not the movie.) Actually read the Constitution, The Federalist, stuff like that. Maybe read your state's ratification of the Constitution if it was one of the original colonies, or the Kentucky Resolutions - instead of just sitting around in your little circle-jerks and calling the President "dumb." I asked you lot to show some respect for the country, and for the office of the President, even if you don't agree with the man. Basically I asked you to show a little class.

 

I guess that was pretty stupid of me. Put it down to the fact that I was drunk at the time; trust me, I won't make the same mistake again.

Yeah, I've read both of the documents in question. I believe our administration is doing damage to the documents in question (i.e. the Constitution vis a vis PATRIOT act), and I think the holiday should be no excuse not to speak up against the administration.

 

Did I make some retarded comment about Bush and Miller? No. Thanks.

 

Will I criticize him on other issues? Of course. July 4th has nothing to do with Bush.

Are you calling me a crybaby? I just said it was smart for the GOP to have Miller identified with Bush. I made no unfavourable remarks about Bush. I was just pointing out how some people view him. Read my post again and you'll see that.

I hope there's a better case for it since hardyz was always a quality poster in current events and I'd hate to see someone banned over that.

If Hardyz did something else to get banned then I take back what I said- but this banning sounds a bit fishy.

He ignored two separate warnings from two different moderators. I agree that some people need to grow thicker skins, but when you're told twice to stop what you're doing and you don't, then the hell with you.
