DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Yeah so my friends want to go to Henry Ford Museum over in Detroit to watch it on the IMAX screen. Has anyone seen it at an IMAX theatre yet? I'm sorta concerned doing it that big would distort or stretch the picture but the ad assures me it makes it look several times better than it would at a normal theatre. Guest SP-1 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 A friend and I are going to take a road trip to GA to see it in IMAX, I think. Which may sound a little fanboyish, but it's half for Matrix and half just to take a road trip.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 My family and I took a trip down to the Big Sleazy to get loaded at The Riverwalk then watch it on the Imax. It's always great to watch a film like that on a larger-than-life screen but watching it for the second time made it easier to make out what was being said and to understand parts of the story. The ending made more sense this time since I could make out everything instead of only hearing half of it.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 It was definitely more fun, I'll tell you that. I saw it about 3 weeks ago on 66th Street. I, too, understood it better, but I wouldn't say that had to do with the IMAX presentation as much as it had to do with me simply putting pieces together the second time. Definitely a fun experience though and you should give it a try. Dames
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Is it formatted for IMAX or just being shown on an IMAX screen? There's a difference...I saw Lord of the Rings: Two Towers on "IMAX" at the Metreon in San Francisco but they were just showing it on the IMAX screen, it wasn't formatted for it, so it was just really big, but didn't fill up the whole screen or anything. I dunno, I fell asleep so I can't really comment too much on it further than that, but it didn't "feel right" like when I saw Lion King, which was formatted for IMAX, the week prior. Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2003 I plan on driving over to Henry Ford in a couple of weeks and catching it there myself.... when I read about it in the newspaper, it was said that it had been reformatted for an IMAX screen. I had been planning on going to see Reloaded anyway, so why not go big?
