Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 2, 2003 I was wondering as I often do. What in your smark minded opinion is the most recent GENIUS or rather, intelligent or good business move involving the WWE company?
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Keeping Nathan Jones off of TV. Okay, so it's not exactly genius, but that's the first thing that came to mind.
Guest IV:XX Report post Posted July 2, 2003 I don't recall any intelligent or good business decisions that Vince has made lately.
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted July 2, 2003 With his recent debut, it's fresh in my mind so I suppose the signing of Ultimo Dragon.
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted July 2, 2003 $250,000 for the ECW library was a good deal
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Releasing the Rey DVD, pushing him, and the HBK/Flair mini-program (most of it, anyway). Signing Ultimo, but already they are fucking up with booking by keeping him off this week's SD. Not letting Torrie talk or act anymore.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted July 2, 2003 ummmmm...........ummmmmm...........ummmmm.............got me? I don't consider signing Ultimo a "genius move" considering anyone on these message boards would have jumped at the chance to sign him if they owned the company. I don't consider something genius if "smart" fans would have easily thought of it first......
Guest Miss Independant Report post Posted July 2, 2003 The influx of new talent. New being new new, not old new like Hogan, Piper, ect. Yeah, they aren't using this new talent well, but then again, they aren't using anyone well. You take your little bits of goodness where you can, I guess. Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Giving Austin the GM role on Raw
NYU 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Bringing back ECW that one fateful night during the Invasion. The shock it brought was great, and I thought Vince could really do something great with that. ......Of course, he ruined it that very same night.
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted July 2, 2003 £2.5million for the WCW video library alone was a bargain.
Guest Dillon Likes Bossman Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Austin as GM on RAW? I'm sorry but The whole GM battles on RAW put me to sleep. That is one of the biggest factors in why I haven't been able to watch a RAW from start to finish for a good 3 months.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Vince deciding to end the XFL after one year but in all seriousness.... Giving Jericho his own talk segment on Raw
Guest bababooey Report post Posted July 2, 2003 IN terms of ultimo, if he lets him shine in a series of matches against rey- that would be genius. but if he gets stuck in some hoss vs flyer feud against a-train or big show than it would be a total waste. i think how spanky will be used will be an indication of how much of a smark genius vince is
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Austin has done what very few men can do.................put LANCE STORM and KANE over in the WWE. I don't care for Bischoff as GM and wish he would dissappear like Nash and HBK. Eric has a BORING personality, he does nothing as The Man with power on Raw. What has Bischoff done as the GM? His 3 Minute Warning boys went nowhere as his enforcers. Genius move #2 Tough Enough did not have another season.

LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Shutting down WWE New York and their music label were both smart business moves. Yeah..............but i used to go to WWE NY...........the restaurant was awful with ridiculous prices and the store was nothing great.....but damn the club was pretty friggin good and i think they should have kept that part open because it was always packed with people when i went. Guest Hass of Pain Report post Posted July 3, 2003 How about bringing up John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Charlie Hass, Shelton Benjamin, Dave Batista, Randy Orton and Sean O'Haire all in the same year and having two of them already main event players with the other five arguably almost there. For as much as WWE does wrong, they sure as hell did right with these men, spacing out their debuts, building them effectively with unique personas and now having the future of wrestling signed to deals worth about $80,000 per year downside with the exception of Lesnar. That's pretty damn good business if you ask me.
Guest ArchoanJB Report post Posted July 3, 2003 hmm Vince McMahon...genuis...doesn't...compute...I'd guess I'll have to say it'd probably be after June staying away from the Split Brands for 8 months...too bad he came back

That's pretty damn good business if you ask me. Is that right? $80,000 for a year for these new guys. I know i hear Rey Mysterio signed for $75,000 when he came in. I can't believe that.....all the travel, on the road about 200-250 days a year, busting your ass every night......always hurt. For fuckin $80,000???? wow, and these guys don't have any merchandise either so i wonder what the upside is on their contracts.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Rey Mysterio, $75 000? That doesn't seem right at all.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Yeah, but with all his merchandise....T-shirts, Masks, Bobble Heads, DVD's and his ppv payoffs he probably AT LEAST doubles that amount
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Still though, that seems very low for a well known wrestler like Rey Mysterio.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Still though, that seems very low for a well known wrestler like Rey Mysterio. I know i couldnt believe it either.......it doesnt seem to long ago when just about everyone was making AT LEAST $400,
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Hell the fucking Barbarian made 500,000 in WCW dying days.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Yeah, but that was a company that gave 1 guy a 3 Million dollar a year contract..........fuckin ridiculous
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Could someone explain: Austin has done what very few men can do.................put LANCE STORM and KANE over in the WWE. How about bringing up John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Charlie Hass, Shelton Benjamin, Dave Batista, Randy Orton and Sean O'Haire all in the same year and having two of them already main event players with the other five arguably almost there The last smart thing Vince did... Put himself on house shows.
Guest Hass of Pain Report post Posted July 3, 2003 You gotta wonder what a guy like the Barbarian did to squander $500,000 if he is still working Indy shows to this day for like $500 a pop. He doesn't seem like the Mercedes/Mink Coat kind of guy.
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted July 3, 2003 I'd go so far back as to say the HHH/Foley feud from 2000. That was the last truly phenomenal run of programs they've had. I'd say the love triangle if not for the non-climax.
