Even More Goldberg good feelings. bleh

Recommended Posts

Guest Trivia247

As has been well documented on this site over the past few weeks, Goldberg continues to be upset with how he has been used by WWE since entering the company. Although the company has made an effort to push Goldberg as an "unstoppable monster", he is still unhappy that he was referred to as a "disappointment" by Linda McMahon during a recent conference call. He is also upset with how tension is building between he and management because he isn't getting over as expected, since he blames the writing team for not booking him properly.

It's common knowledge that Goldberg is set financially due to his time with WCW and he's stated on at least one occasion that he doesn't have a passion for the wrestling business that most of the other wrestlers do. This should make the next few months very interesting, because if he is not booked to defeat Triple H for the World Heavyweight Title at Summer Slam as originally planned, he may very well quit the company.

The ONLY acceptable scenario is to have FGB win at SS, then lose to Jericho via thw Walls on Raw.

Since that won't happen, fire him.

I didn't want him back in the first place. So I won't miss him when he leaves soon.

They can't just FIRE HIM like you've all suggested.

First, I assume he's on a written contract with a creative control clause. This means that unless he walks out willfully, which it looks like he just might do, then Vince will have to pay out millions just to legally release Goldbitch without him coming back and suing with a vengeance.

Goldberg sucks, but it's Vince's fault that he's even here.

I'm all for firing him but I would wait until he has a program with Trips first to see if any "accident" comes out of their matches.

Put him in there with RVD and tell Van Dam to kick his head off ala RAW this week when he faced Triple H.

I mean, REALLY kick him hard. If he complains call him a pussy and watch him walk out, if he survives, send out Scott Steiner.

Win-win situation really.

Austin vs Goldberg is the only match I want to see. After this match I don't really care what happens to him, he can join the long list of HHH jobbers and dissappear.

Come on now, can you think of any other babyface on the Raw side who could draw considerable money with Triple H at this point? Kane is questionable and RVD and Booker T have been so tarnished that they are going to need a lot longer than a month to be rebuilt before challenging for the title at one of the big four pay-per-views.

Triple H is dwindling as a draw in terms of buyrates, ratings and crowd reaction because fans have lost belief that the title will actually change hands anytime soon. Goldberg is still undamaged goods in that he hasn't jobbed to HHH yet and like him or hate him, he has to take the title at SummerSlam or else the company is headed in a very bad position.

The problem is that Goldberg might get the belt...and walk out anyway.

They are not going to want to give him a strap while he's unhappy with the company.

This isn't 1996 though where Goldberg can just up and go and take the belt to another company. He's under contract, if he breaches it in any way, just like the rest of us "normal folk" he's fucked. From the sounds of it he's upset because he DOESN'T have the title yet so I don't see why he would walk if he won it.

I still think putting the title on Goldberg is the only way to go at SummerSlam.

Still, if he walks when he gets the belt, Vince is fucked too, lawsuits aside. It would be a huge slap in the face.

there are worse things than simply getting fired.

if he is under a strong contract, just don't use him, send him home with the pay he's promised.

nothing says someone has to be used.

hell guys he felt the need not to volunteer to do any house shows and only TV and PPV shows.

kinda shows you the interests he has in the business..

say what you like about HHH at least he does house shows.

No, it's 2003 when the business is way down. Goldberg has always driven a hard bargain, and is financially independent so he doesn't need to accept the first offer WWE throws at him. I doubt that he signed a contract where there's much anyone can do to him, even if you sick the full wrath of the legal team on him.

Vince probably could have sued Austin when he walked out. Why didn't he? Because even if he won, it would do more harm than good. Goldberg isn't as big a star true, but he's still up there.

The only thing that would stop TNA from welcoming Goldberg and tossing the Raw belt into the trash is that they couldn't afford Goldberg. If the money was there I bet ol' Bill would do it in a second.

TNA is on a weekly budget of $75,000 and that has to pay for the arena, about twenty to thirty wrestlers, production, electricity, commentators and stagehands, insurance and a hell of a lot of other things. Even at such a small budget, they are still in the red. Do you reallllly think Goldberg would come to a ma' and pa' wrestling promotion for five thousand dollars to "stick it to Vince". Goldberg thinks that he is too good for WWE, he's not going to be taking any Indy dates anytime soon I have a feeling.

Saying WWE "can't do anything" if he walks is insane. WWE could have sued the hell out of Austin but didn't probably because of his personal problems and long, loyal tenure with the company. I don't think WWE has any loyalty to Goldberg at this point.

I'm not saying that I like Goldberg but who else would you pit against Triple H at SummerSlam? "Booker T, RVD, Kane yayyy I'm a smart fan!!!". If we are talking about drawing money, Goldberg vs. HHH is the only major match that hasn't been done to death by now. They are paying 1.5 million dollars for Goldberg, you can't just not use him because of his attitude, that's not how good business works.

No, as I said, TNA doesn't haven't the money to land someone like Goldberg. If they did, Goldberg would follow the money. That's all I said.

They can TRY to do plenty. What I'm saying is it won't get them anywhere, and they know this. That's why they probably won't bother.

This is a company that is known to get buttfucked by their own contracts. They signed Mark Henry to a 200 million year deal or whatever. They can't fire him without incurring a loss, so all they can do is keep him aboard and pray he does something right.

Bret Hart was given a "reasonable creative control" clause in his contract. I bet Goldberg has something very similar. But that's a very subjective phrase. Say Goldberg walks because he wasn't given reasonable creative control. Would you want to go before a judge arguing what was reasonable creative control?

WWE could have sued the hell out of Austin but didn't probably because of his personal problems and long, loyal tenure with the company.

Or they were worried how the marks would react to them legit suing their all time favorite wrestler.

I'm not saying that I like Goldberg but who else would you pit against Triple H at SummerSlam

It's a problem, I agree. They have destroyed all the credible faces on Raw.

But I still maintain that any worker that is making as much noise as Goldberg and who is open about the fact that he doesn't love the business should not get the belt. If he gets it and refuses to play ball, they're screwed. They didn't pull the trigger on RVD, Booker when they had the chance. Now all they've got is Goldberg. Screwed again.

In fact, the only reason HHH has the belt still probably has a lot to do with his engagement to Stephanie. He's the one worker Vince knows isn't going to leave WWE.

Knowing HHH, I'm expecting a DQ finish at SummerSlam then another burial / possible title job at Unforgiven.

Its a double edge sword, you want the title off HHH, but you want the next champ to be somebody who can actually wrestle.

Whichever way the HHH/Goldberg match goes....RAW is fucked!
