Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted July 3, 2003 With Taker's arrival after Orlando Jordan vs. John Cena, plus Spoiler (Highlight to Read): UT's interference in the John Cena vs. Billy Gunn match it seems fairly certain that at Vengence one match will be Cena vs. the Undertaker. This reminds me of something that happened three years ago. At Fully Loaded Taker took on a pre-WWF title Kurt Angle and beat him cleanly. Taker recieved a lot of criticism for not even taking Kurt seriously, who up until then was considered the next big thing. Taker has had a history of not jobbing. Hell, it's his WM gimmick. I can tolerate him dominating people like the Rock or HHH who are established wrestlers. But he always cuts the legs off of the up and comers. Kurt Angle, RVD, Brock, Jeff Hardy, Booker T, DDP, and now Cena. Can't the guy ever make someone else look good for a change? My point is, Cena's got the most to benefit out of all those that have faced Taker before him. Elevating Cena by getting a win over Taker could give SD another big heel which it desperately needs. Do you think Cena has a chance? Do you think Cena deserves to win? Do you think I'm full of shit and Taker should have won all those times?
Guest Sakura Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Cena has no chance. Taker will "give him the rub" by beating him.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted July 3, 2003 but Cena's a veteran now!
Adam 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Yep, it will be shades of Taker vs. Angle at Fully Loaded.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 it seems fairly certain that at Vengence one match will be Cena vs. the Undertaker. I just like the fact Undertaker wouldn't put HHH over, but yet he put Cena over, but then again, he had to get elbow surgery...if Taker wants to make us happy, he'll put Cena over again. This reminds me of something that happened three years ago. At Fully Loaded Taker took on a pre-WWF title Kurt Angle and beat him cleanly. You have to remember the Undertaker had just returned from a long agonizing injury (whatever it was, it kept him out for NINE months) two months before this happened, but then again, Angle was SUPPOSED to have a world title shot at this PPV, he wouldn't get his world title singles match for another 3 months. I have to admit when Angle came out with a helmet on the moped on RAW heading into this, I was laughing my ass off.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Exactly...Cena will abuse him verbally and get everyone behind the "heel" while Old Man Taker spits his "RESPACT ME BAH GAWD" rhetoric and slaps him around on the PPV...Gives a little offense to the kid and no sell the Finisher and WedgieBomb him back down the ladder. Adam 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 I'd mark out for a F-U on Taker.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Taker isn't squashing anyone I care about, so oh well. Cena will bounce back, but Taker doesn't need to do this. I guess with two months between each show's PPVs, what they will do it build up a feud for each month, and blow it off halfway. For example, before this Taker had that feud with the FBI where he squashed them week after week, usually single handedly. When the hell is he retiring already? Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 When the hell is he retiring already? Maybe if he gets his motorcycle license suspended / revoked. And then if WWE forces him to grow his hair long and make him job at the next WM...
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 The only way Taker is jobbing at WrestleMania is if he faces HHH.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2003 ^ Again?!!
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Taker should make like Hogan and "walk away" and refresh his Dead Man Gimmick for one more run for Mania. Let him go over the random "Monster" Heel of the time and Walk away for good...going 11-0.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I just like the fact Undertaker wouldn't put HHH over, but yet he put Cena over, but then again, he had to get elbow surgery...if Taker wants to make us happy, he'll put Cena over again I wouldn't exactly call that match "putting Cena over". Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I dunno...It only took 4 run ins for Cena to get arm cover victory... That's putting some1 over for Taker.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I wouldn't exactly call that match "putting Cena over". Yeah, but he jobbed to him regardless.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted July 4, 2003 It was actually 2 run ins, a chair, a chain, and a ref bump. Yep.
Guest Repo Man jr Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Oh man. I bet Taker asked for his "job" back for "putting over" Cena in that "match".
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2003 I wholeheartedly agree with Taker needing to job to Cena. Definately want to see that happen. As for the Wrestlemania job, as much as he needs to job the rest of the year, I rather see him go undefeated at Wrestlemania. It takes some of the fun out of the match, but that is kind of a "legacy" streak and although it is a pre-determined legacy, we don't get to see many things like that anymore. Any dignity or prestige to titles are pretty much non-existant, so for the next couple years, the last few (hopefully), it'll be something cool and "important". Plus, it's a goal for "up and comers" and could be used for a good angle going into WMXX. But, seeing this is just Vengeance and Smackdown needs a heel, job him to Cena, make Cena famous in a better way than the previously mentioned "Wedgie-Bomb". Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted July 4, 2003 They should do with this angle what they should have done w/ Brock and Cena back while they were feuding . Have it be all about Undertaker not respecting Cena or taking him seriously. Have Cena go to the ring, cut a promo on Taker (not a rap) and demand that he show him respect. Taker comes out, brawl ensues and Cena comes out on the winning end, giving Taker the F-U. Then he takes the mic and says something to the effect of "You respect me now?" or something like that. Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 4, 2003 Undertaker clearly isn't smaht... He knows he has about equal pull as Hogan...So he can walk away and stay injury free at home with the wife and new born child... He knows Vince is there to bring him back at the Rumble for another Mania Run... You'd think he start getting nervous and pull a hogan by this point.... Just go away (Put over Cena)...Grow back your Hair... NO HYPE at all and return at The Royal Rumble but not as the Bikertaker but as the DEAD MAN reborn. Don't enter the rumble...Appear before the Match and Cut a Darkside returns promo...Leave. Move him to Raw. Take the Big Bad Heel and run it to mania...Taker goes over and drifts into the darkness... or you just Squash Cena...go over RhYno at Slam...Beat an MONSTER HEEL Lesnar at Unf/No Mercy and run with the title until jobbing it back to Lesnar two weeks before maina...and Squashing Benoit in MSG. What? Benoit hasn't had his Taker squashing yet...That lousy canuck hasn't paid his dues...
