Spots called out too loud

Recommended Posts

Guest HartFan86

What match do you remember when a move was called out TOO loud? I can remember a few that come too mind:

1. 2 weeks ago @ Wrestlemania 18, RVD vs. Regal. RVD calls "dropkick" in the corner really loud. Also, during the Kane/Angle match, Kane calls for a "double goozle" loud.

2. St. Valentine's Day Massacre, Ken Shamrock says "slap me" to his sister. Low and behold, she slapped  him.

Any incidents you can think of that were just down horrible?

The other posts are better than these. Who cares what WWF guys are gay, what spots have been called, people who used to use their current finishers but didn't get the pin then...blah, blah blah.

No offense to him or anything, but who really cares what Scott Keith would do in the WWF?

Well, keeping on topic and avoiding the argument, I remember hearing Triple H yell "sideslam" fairly loud during a title match with the Big Show in '99- early 2000.

I remember during War Games when Sid told Rick Steiner "Are you ready?" Rick said "Yeah." This was caught right on camera. Happened at WCW Wrestle War '91.

Unforgiven 2001-Jericho vs. RVD. Jericho picks up the ladder, Stands there, says "drop toe hold" to RVD and RVD DTHs him on the ladder.

I've heard Triple H yell out too many spots to count. Either he is just loud or his voices carries.

how about Mick Foley calling spots when he was tag teaming with Rock, Snow, Funk?

RAW sometime in 97-98. HBK vs. Shamrock, Shawn is against the ropes. He shouts out "clothesline" in a sing-song voice. Shamrock clotheslines him out of the ring.

You can always hear Tripple H because the crowd goes silent during his matches.

I think the only one i've really heard is one that everyone knows at Summerslam 92 when Bret was caught calling for some moves.  I don't remember what he called for but I know that there was a big thing about it then because some people still weren't sure whether it was staged or not.

HBK probably did that because he was sick of Ken "Hold My hand, Shawn" Shamrock

HHH vs. Owen Hart - Unforgiven '98.

You can clearly hear HHH go, "Owen, go into the corner, step back, I'll move."

Bret Hart said in his first RFvideo Shoot that the crowd was so loud and he had to call the moves because Davey Boy Blew up 2 minutes into the match (Blew up = Got tried) Bret said Davey Boy froze like a Deer in headlights.

Another time with HBK was (I think) SummerSlam96' when Vader moved out of the way when Shawn was coming off the ropes to hit the elbow smash. Shawn had to change motion in the air and he Screamed "YOU MOVED" and threw a little tantrum.

Mick Foley said that was where he got his idea for their match. HBK also said it in his RFShoot.  Shawn Michaels was known for throwing fits in the ring if things didn't go his way so Foley & Shawn did that spot in their match where it looks like Foley screws the spot up and Shawn starts pounding him.

HHH is the worst at calling spots in mid-match.

Cactus vs. HHH sometime on RAW.  HHH sets Cactus on the announce table and then clearly says "Pedigree" as Cactus lifts his arms so HHH can hook them.

Undertaker vs. HHH Wrestlemania 17 I think.  Taker gives HHH the Tombstone, leans down and says, "Are you okay?"  HHH didn't call this spot but did nod his head yes.

HHH/Austin vs. Benoit/Jericho RAW.  Benoit is in the corner while HHH kicks him in the gut.  HHH leans in to irish whip Benoit but not before clearly saying "Dodge the clothsline".  Benoit gets sent into the opposite corner and HHH charges with a clothline only to have Benoit move out of the way.

Anytime you go to an indy show try to sit as close as possible.  It's easy to hear them call spots if the arena only has 100 people in it.

I've often read about the Shawn/Vader incident (SK seems to mention it a lot), but I never actually saw the match. How exactly does he throw a tantrum? Is it Christian-style, where he starts kicking the ropes and jumping on the mat or does he actually start stiffing Vader (which doesn't seem wise) ?

I just watched HHH-XPac at Backlash 99 and HHH clearly said "How much time do we have left?" to the ref, which JR and The King played off as HHH trash-talking to X-Pac.

Rock/Angle,Game, Summerslam2000, Angle whips H3 into the ropes and loudly shouts "belly", then promptly does an overhead belly to belly

Ken Shamrock vs. The Rock - Survivor Series 1998

Shamrock tells Rock that he's about to do a russian leg sweep. You could hear it very clearly.

During a 3-Way on RAW.Lance Storm tells Big Show to chop him and it looked like it hurt bad. Those are the only ones I can remember.Maybe next time I should pay more attention to Triple H and his matches.

Areacode mentioned this already but he didn't explain it all.  HBK was bring a dick to the inexperienced Shamrock.  He was calling sptos so loudly and often that WWF was attempting to block them out by muting the sound and they failed most of the time.

The next week Shawn cut a promo to Shamrock were he said something along the lines of, "Last week I had to walk you through a match step by step". That's a very loose paraphrasing BTW.  The match was after Montreal and before the DX ppv.

As i remember shawn went up for the elbow wanting vader to move and when he didn't, landed on his feet and kicked him in head saying 'move, idiot' and they carried on. If i were vader i'd have bitch-slapped the prick right there, but alas he didn't. Vince was all like 'shawn knew he couldn't connect like he wanted form that position i think.'

another shocking one was road dogg v chyna (kotr 99?) where roadie pretty much yells 'SLEEPER' followed by 'oooooh' as in 'god good, i'm in a sleeper hold.' complete with wildly flailing arms. embarassing.

If Shawn Michaels wasn't Vince McMahon's personal bitch then most of those guys like Vader and Shamrock would of probably killed Shawn.

Lance Storm's "Chop" to Big Show on Raw a few weeks back was pretty loud.

I have a GREAT clip of Ken Shamrock telling Ryan Shamrock "Slap me".

Best one ever was at a house show in California....Rock vs Shamrock back when they were fueding.  Rock and Shamrock are running the ropes and Shamrock yells out at the top of his lungs "CLOTHESLINE!!"...and they just stop running, and crack up.  Even the ref couldn't help but laugh.

Dames - "Reverse, Charge"

The Austin/HHH match at no way out 01

They are calling spots left and right, which JR said as trash talking but you can clearly hear H say single-arm ddt, charge, backdrop and other things he is too loud.

also at Rumble 99, when austin is left with vinc ein the ring , vince is on his knees and says, are you going to stun me? austin says no, then vince asked: ready for the low blow? then low blows him.

Trips in the rumble match 99 was really bad, he tells val venis (i think) "if I throw you over will you hang on?)

kane saying double goozle was very obvious even watching live.  I love going to indy cards and hearing thme call spots.  I mention it loudly every time i hear it, and yell out rest hold during them. once i saw a wrestler come out and I knew hed turn heel ( i had a feeling) and i yell "hey heel turn coming" and he did too funny. then at he wwa ppv i was making very loud smart comments and annoying people, but who cares since most of them were comped.

If that was 92 Vader, he'd have fucking killed Shawn for that petty shit.

Another lil Triple H gem: On the RAW before the year 2000 when HHH won the title back from Big Show, during a rope running segment, you can hear Trips almost practically scream "HIGH KNEE". I think Big Show almost cracked up at that, too.

Vader I can see, but I totally agree with Shawn on the Shamorck issue.  It must have been a pain in the ass to have to walk Ken through a match.

HHH-Angle, Unforgiven 2000:

HHH sets up Kurt for an Irish whip, says "Duck, high knee." Guess what happens.

JR covered for that one as "trash talk" too.

Royal Rumble 90, Dusty is hammering away on Dino Bravo(i think) and dust just leans down and starts what looks like a conversation with dino.
