LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 I was in work today and we were doing shipment. I saw we got a new Platinum Series DVD. I've seen the Cedric the Entertainer presents, which was kind of funny, but not much of Cedric and I know there is a Steve Harvey, among others. I looked and I saw it was Dave Chapelle! Dave Chapelle is one of my favorites, so I snatched it to rent. Upon looking closer it turns out it is his "Killing Them Softly" special, which I hear is one of the funniest stand ups ever. I hadn't heard anything about this, so I didn't know if anyone else knew. This seems like a definate pick up for me, I am going to watch it soon. BTW, its actual release for rental and sale is July 15th, not this Tuesday, but the next one.
Guest Bruiser Chong Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Yeah I heard about that a while back. Killing Them Softly is in fact one of the funniest stand-up specials I've seen in a while. Definitely Chappelle's best.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 I didn't really pay him any mind until I gave Chappelle's Show a shot, which is the best new comedy series in a while. I mean, c'mon, he's making actual funny jokes about crack addicts (addicted to crackin' skulls when fools start static). I'll pick this up if it's ten dollars.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 Yeah, I am a fan of Chapelles stuff so I will def pick it up, esp. if its his best.
