I'd say a majority of reported post comes from one guy, to the point where you basically disregard the complaint. The fact hardly anybody gives real specific info on what they're reporting also causes most to disregard a complaint. But warned more than once and threatening to IM bomb somebody is a little overboard IMO. I'm sure a lot of heat will go towards Tom, but since he's the only Mod that spends a lot of time in CE, Dames and the rest of the Mods trust his judgement. Remember when the only people that got banned were trolls...real trolls who never contributed ANYTHING? that's how it should be. Unban banky. Unban Hardyz, unban Bestbuy, and the others. I'll always post here but this is pretty ridiculous. All of these bannings are taking away from the fun of this board. And the lifetime ban souldn't apply to Banky anyway. The lifetime ban cameabout because ban posters kept coming back to whine and complain about being banned. Banky hasn't done that and he won't do that. And I used to agree with you Rant. Just because I disagree with someone doesn't mean that I want them banned. I disagree with alot of things that Will says but I'd never ask for him to be banned because he's a great guy. I've flamed Tom, Jingus, and Kahran in CE (the first two extensively, over multiple posts; the last one more briefly, but in at least two different threads), so that leaves them out. I've never had the opportunity to flame Brian, Tony, BPS, or APO, but since I've exchanged no more than half a dozen lines with all of them put together over the past few years I really don't know any of them well enough to be their pet. If you're including admins, I guess that just leaves Dames and 212, unless I'm missing someone. 212 falls into the same category as Brian, Tony, BPS, and APO, and the fact that Dames and I do banter a bit from time to time hardly sets me apart from anyone else at TSM. I'd like an answer to this question, because if I'm someone's pet I want him to buy me a diamond-studded collar and a leash. I think that would look kinda hot. The other thread you mentioned was about mental diseases, and the exact same things I said about the thread concerning the French apply there as well. My position wasn't original or even all that controversial, as I stated in that thread; it has been published by countless others for decades now in countless iterations, to countless degrees, and it is part of mainstream psychological curricula across the country and across the world. I've seen instances where people have said/done worse and didn't get warned, nevertheless banned, over it. However, this is not my board so I'm the mods' bitch when it comes to this place... And he was warned for calling someone a crybaby, apparently. Honestly, you have some issues to sit down with if your skin is thin enough that you can't take something like that over the internet. I've called people names here before, just as I've been called names—big deal. Someone could call me a half-bred nigger and I wouldn't message a moderator to take some action for my satisfaction. There's a difference between saying that to some faceless voice over your cable modem and using saying it to a real face that now has a good reason to knock you back to next in pieces. Because the former is easier to do than the latter. Rule of thumb says that makes it mean less. And now that I think about it, I actually don't want to categorize what I do as "name-calling," as that has too negative a connotation. The first was in the Music folder, I believe, though I don't recall where the second one was. Yes, I agree that JMA was quite thin-skinned about the whole thing, but threatening an IM bomb, mocking someone in a signature, and ignoring two warnings to stop what you're doing is a bit thick, Jeeves. 2. Marney is not "my pet," as there's absofuckinglutely nothing I can do to stop her from being axed by someone else. Some of you act like there's a magical "This poster can never be banned" checkbox by her name that only I have the power to use. Get over it. I'm not the only one here who can ban people, even in CE, which (rightly or wrongly) has always been seen as "my" folder. 3. Bob, you always have some kind of conspiracy theory when someone gets banned. "Something's fishy" or "it doesn't add up," and this time, you even reversed yourself after apparently being sated by Tony's post.
