cmclennan 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2003 Craig McLennan sits on a badly broken bed, inside what is most likely the very same house we saw him in last week. He playing with a pack of matches absent-mindedly as he looks into the camera. "Bloodshed... That's what they're calling you these days." He says, with a mocking smile. "We had another name for you, back in the day... Do you know what it was?" He asks, still smiling. "Loser. Because that's what you were, my friend. Nothing but a loser. Sure, the fans cheered you. But for what? Because you bled. Because you always got your ass handed to you, until you were nothing but a bloody heap of unwashed flesh. And now that you've come to the SJL, I can see that nothing has changed. Predictable. Like everything you do." "Of course, the opposite is true for me. Much like the fire that you so ignorantly point out that I "Play" with, I cannot be tamed easily. I am the very essence of Unpredictability. I am he who cannot be anticipated, and I am both your enemy, and your hero. You see, I will not merely defeat you in a trivial way inside the ring." "I will destroy your body," he says, striking a match, and placing it in an ashtray. "Your mind," said as he strikes another match, adding it to the ashtray. "And your dignity," he adds, striking a third match, and adding it to the flaming troika of matches. "Leaving only your soul, your essence. I will set your spirit free from the flesh that taints and imprisons it." He gets off the bed, and picks up the ashtray containing the three still-burning matches. He puts his hand over the flame. "You see, the flame does not burn me, for I control it. Much like I control you. Every move you make, every word you speak... merely distorted manifestations of my will. I own your soul, and once you are no more, I shall have possesion of it." With that, he throws the ashtray against the wall, lighting a curtain on fire. He laughs maniacally, as the camera fades to black.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted July 7, 2003 A quick and firm response to Bloodshed. I like it; from just these two dueling promos, we've got a sense of how these guys are. Bloodshed is definitely the more extravagant of the two, while McClennan is more likely going to be the man ready to seriously shut him down. There's a lot on the table already, but I think you've got a good vibe so far.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted July 7, 2003 It's like Kane and Jake Roberts had a love child. Good promo overall, short, concise, to the point and propels both the feud and characters. I'm still not keen on 'moody, heavy talking' vignettes, but I came from a time where you just tied Dusty Rhodes to a car bumper and beat the shit out of him with a crowbar to get your point across. Guest chirs3 Report post Posted July 7, 2003 1) Direct response promos rule all. 2) Short and to the point. Shorter isn't always better, but this just worked. 3) Fire is cool.
Guest Goose749 Report post Posted July 7, 2003 It's like Kane and Jake Roberts had a love child. Kake? Good stuff, starting a fire between you two, and the curtains at the same time. Style. ...Man, this insane fire thing is getting overused. Maybe I'll change my image, go to face. - Jimmy "The Bible" Liston
