The Phone Booth DVD is interesting. Watched it last Friday.

Do you mean the DVD or the movie itself, because the DVD doesn't look very good or interesting.

Phone Booth is such a short movie they'd have to pack the DVD with extras.

And that's just lazy giving a tiny list of what's out. When I did the DVD list gimmick...*rambles on about the olden days*

Saw Phone Booth in the theatres... it was nothing special. I don't see anything special about Colin Farrell, to be honest. Yay, so he's an Irish guy who can do a good "American" accent, and he has to shave his unibrow.. whoopdiedoo...

I will, however, be picking up Manhunter!

I've already got Phone Booth on order for free from FreeDVD4Me.com just like I got Gangs of New York last week.

I forget, what all is on the PB disc again?

I loved the film, one of my favorites in a long time.

Nevermind, here is review from DVDTalk.com (only the "Extras" and "Final Thoughts" are here, go to the site if you want the entire review)...

EXTRAS:

Commentary: Director Joel Schumacher provides an audio commentary for the film. This is an okay commentary, but I was hoping for something more. The director does touch on the topic of trying to shoot a movie in about 10 days, but I was hoping for more details about the planning that has to go into a production like that. The director instead spends much of the time discussing casting, acting and character issues. Although he does add a touch of humor and presents these topics in an interesting manner, I was hoping for something more technical in this case.

Also: Trailers for Fox's "Garage Days" and "Phone Booth".

Final Thoughts: A tense and effective thriller, "Phone Booth" is fast-paced, involving and offers a strong lead performance from Farrell. Fox's DVD doesn't present much in the way of supplements (a documentary about how the film was able to be shot in 10 days would have been nice), but does present the film with very good audio/video quality. Recommended.

...at least it's not TOTALLY bare bones.

I will probably pick up Phone Booth, if only for Kiefer Sutherland's role in it.

It's not lazy, since I really do have the complete list at the link i gave. It's just a shameless plug trying to get more people to check out my articles and hopefully the church of no ma'am site and forum.

Colin Farrel reminds me of a new Brad Pitt, just with a lot less acting ability.

I have a question since I must have been living in a cave when PB was released in theaters. Was Kiefer Sutherland advertised or was he supposed to be a "surprise"? I know the voice obviously gives it away quickly, but it kind of sucks if the DVD people whored him out and put his face on the cover of Phone Booth.

I was gonna get Phone Booth, but decided not to because its about as barebones as it can get.

I was shocked to hear that originally Jim Carrey was in talks for Colin Farrell's part...I don't think that would have worked.

I think Jason Lee was in talks for that too wasn't he?

Weren't they talking about it on the Dogma commentary?

The script for this movie has been passed around for a long long time.

The part was written for Jim Carrey, and *I* was shocked to hear that Colin Farrell got the role.

Wasn't Jim Carrey at one point signed on to do the movie and backed out for some reason?

Can't wait to see Basic.

why...

Even before I heard how awful it was I didn't think it looked very interesting.

It's just another typical military thriller...yawn.

I'm in a tough spot with this Phone Booth DVD. Personally I LOVED the movie and have been looking forward to it for months now. Although considering the lack of extras, odds are a special edition will be released down the line.

Decisions, Decisions.

I seriously doubt that Phone Booth is going to get a Special Edition.

Unless it does horribly on DVD sales I don't see why not.

Army of Darkness has like three Special Editions and it's audience isn't very big.

Regarding Manhunter, what's a Divimax edition?

Also, in regards to multiple editions of Army of Darkness, I'd argue that it's the most popular (or at least most accessible) film in the Evil Dead series. Also, let's not forget that Anchor Bay are vampires who double and triple dip their "big titles" all the time. Bastards.

DiViMax -- a High Definition (HD) film transfer process that provides state-of-the-art picture quality

It mainly just means it's been remastered, but it also has better extras than the single disc edition it's replacing.

Oh yeah there's no doubts about the popularity of Army of Darkness. I was saying that overall Army of Darkness has a small audience compared to "major releases". Unless Phone Booth has awful DVD sales it should sell more than Army of Darkness would, so it has just as much chance as any movie to get a SE.
