Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 I also had this sequal to Clue, forget the exact name. It was a 3-D board and you had paintings that the players could place in any of the rooms they wanted. One person was the Thief, while the rest were the standard Clue characters. The thief was invisible, he didn't have a piece on the board, but rather charted his moves on his own personal pad that had a sketch of the board on it. The other players had to guess where the thief would strike and try to head him off. If they got in sight of the thief, then he would become visible with his own piece on the board and you had to chase him and catch him, (land on his square) before he could make it to one of the exits. I forget all the little details. 13 Dead-End Drive! I loved that game... but it took forever to set-up. That description is nothing like Dead End Drive... No. It is a Clue sequel. I had it too. The idea is for the thief to steal paintings from a museum without being caught by Mustard & Company. He would be invisible unless he tripped a motion sensor or was in the direct line of sight of one of the good guys. The game ended when either the thief got caught or escaped the museum with a certain number of art pieces (not all the exits are unlocked).
Guest JHawk Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 Monopoly and Clue were always my favorites. I used to love Scrabble, but I dated a girl who was cutthroat about winning that game. I've played it maybe twice since.

I also bought 13 Dead End Drive, and played it a total of one time before losing most of it and never seeing it ever again.

Sounded exactly like Dead End Drive... at least the way I remember it. I don't remember the game exactly, but I do remember trying to assemble all the walls and sets, which took some time, and maybe I'm wrong again, but I remember the game used paintings of the characters for something.
Guest Star Ocean 3 Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 Dead End Drive didn't have any clue characters. In there the point was to escape while your character's portrait was on the wall. Everyone else would try to kill you...I don't want to explain it all, but what the other guy mentioned is a different game.
Guest Vyce Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Maybe someone can help me out with identifying this one game. I had it as a child, but I forget the name. This is circa late 80s / early 90s. The game was horror-based (but a goofy type of horror). The object of the game was to navigate around a haunted house, with the board being the house itself and all of its many rooms. The game came with a cassette tape in which the owner of the house (who talked with a bad Boris Karloff impersonation) would give you orders as to which room to go. The game also came with, and for what reason I don't know, a green plastic Frankenstein's monster. Any help with identifying this? It was a weird game, but I remember it fondly. BTW, in regards to obscure games, anyone here ever own / play Nightmare or Heroquest?

Guest bravesfan Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Risk, Monopoly and Scrabble. Although these require friends that thrive on playing for hours at a time, which I sadly have a lack of. Hopefully, my collegiate years will provide me with months of RISK RUMBLES~!
Guest Lightning Flik Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Risk is just the fucking bomb when you wanna create a great long night party. Seriously, myself and 5 others just had a great time blowing away 3 days of having a Risk all party. Needless to say, the game only ended because Mike (an ol' friend of mine) managed to gather up Australia and then proceed to use that land mass to pluck off the rest of us. It was kinda sad really watching him dominate us from that small land mass, as we had more area and armies, but he swept us easily (especially when Mike got about oh... 10 armies that just began pouring spreading out every time we turned around).
