Ultimo vs. Eddie

I just went went on the WWE website because I was bored. So I read the Smack down preview. I was amazed when I read this.

The U.S. Championship Tournament continues this week, as Eddie Guerrero battles Ultimo Dragon. Will Guerrero say anything about his heinous attack last week on his former tag team partner and friend, Tajiri?

This match has the potential to be match of the year, but it doesn't have benoit. But that's not my point. This reminds me of the time after the Benoit vs. Angle Matchat the Royal Rumble. The thursday right after the royal Rumble Benoit vs. Angle was the main Event. Angle killed Benoit right after they actually made both people look at royal Rumble match.I guess I'm overacting but what's this buisness coming too.

Yeah, I was disappointed. They've had great match-ups in the past, but the one on SD, I swore only lasted about 3 minutes. Ultimo makes his debut, gets stuck in a DARK match the next week, out of nowhere gets stuck into the US title tournament and loses his 2nd televised match, I'm like "What the fuck WWE?"

the concept is match of the year, the execution of the match was not.

Had it gone down on a PPV stage where there was a build up then we could have saw it..

but hell it was all but a filler match :|

Did Ultimo piss off WWE creative? I'm thinking he was too flippy or something.

Isn't Rey more flippy than Ultimo is? I just think they don't know what to do with him at the moment.

The fact that the match was too short to mean anything and Eddy used the tights means they can still have a program down the road when Eddy and Tajiri have finished ruling the school. I hope.

I think Ultimo just wanted to be back for one great stint at MSG. He may have come out of retirement, but I doubt he's in shape to do a full WWE match. Our loss, though.

Despite his arm being at 50%, I'm sure Ultimo can still pull off A+ matches if they just give him more ring time.

heh, I wonder if they'll put Ultimo in the ME during their Japan shows....WWE will just stick him with Tajiri and let them have 5 minutes...

I hope Crazy MAX invade the show...that would rule! :headbang:

I don't think that's the problem. He seems to be in great shape, from what I've seen. They just don't know what to do with him. There have been talks of bringing him in since what, last summer? And now he's here and they have no program ready. That's just....WWE.

I would be angry about the short match, but I was mesmerised by Ultimo's entrance. That's a pretty awesome pyro for someone whom they apparently don't have a feud for. I couldn't be angry anyway, because Eddie is Ediie and Ultimo is Ultimo and for about four minutes all was cool and right with the world. And I console myself with the thought that there is a small chance of that match being redone on PPV with a good fifteen minutes at least at some point.
