Stunning Steve Austin during and after the hollywood blondes was the greatest heel ever IMHO

I voted for "Stunning" Steve (Hollywood Blondes and on). He did some awesome work there. I also liked the original "Stone Cold" heel character he played.

You can't get any better than the Alliance Austin.  He was just such an awesome heel, IMO.

Homoerotic Steve Austin was the funniest thing I had ever seen in years.

*Angle is sitting next to Austin on the couch waiting for Vince.  Austin touches him lightly on the head*

"I like your hat"

*Angle is visibly uncomfortable.  Vince arrives...Austin wants to sing to him*

Jesus, that was great television.  LOL! I'd get the WWF Action DVD just for that stuff.

I liked pre- mainstream Stone Cold when he just did whatever he fucking wanted to do. Just the total bad-ass face.

You wan't good TV, pop in the Sept. 3, 2001 Raw:

-Austin and Debra are sitting in the dressing room when Stephanie burts in.  Austin, who is edgy, waiting for Kurt Angle to show up since Austin just threw his gold medals in the river the week before, jumps out of his seat.

Austin: The hell are you doin', Steph? Do you mind knockin'? You scared the hell out of Debra! All due respect - yeah, I seen you jump - you're scared to death!

...

Austin: You know, speaking of Debra, I was talking to her a little while ago before you barged in and she was wondering, uh...you ain't seen Kurt Angle in the hallway, have you?

Debra: I didn't ask that!

Austin: You did too, a while ago.

...

Stephanie: Debra, don't be silly - don't be worried about Kurt Angle. There is NO chance that Kurt Angle would show up in the arena tonight. Every time Kurt Angle is face to face with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle gets BEAT DOWN. I know that if *I* were Kurt Angle, I wouldn't show up tonight.

Austin: Yeah. YEAH YOU HEARD HER, he ain't gonna show! The words she speaks are as true now as they were 500 years ago. What's Kurt gonna do? Every time we got a Monday Night RAW, he's gonna come get his ass whipped by Stone Cold Steve Austin? HELLO, I think he's smarter than that. Yeah! He ain't gonna show up so stop worrying. Why don't you run over there and fetch me a beer? I feel like celebrating a little early tonight. you're right.

Hollwood Blondes Steve until his departure was great. Austin-Steamboat it is a great feud as well and one of my personal favorites.

Funny, yes.  But tragic when you consider that it all culminated in Kurt Angle pushing Austin into a kiddie pool.  That was also the episode where Austin did his Leonardo DiCaprio impression in the bed of his truck.  The good almost outweighs the bad.

I'll take all of Austin's heel run last year, though.  Despite everything else in the company going to complete shit, he was still consistently entertaining.

Don't forget "Superstar" Steve Austin.

And I too, liked Homoerotic Austin the best.

As much as I liked the most recent heel version, I have to go with the original Austin 3:16 pre-mellowed out "tweener" character.  Very cutting edge.

Steve Austin Alliance Verison was classic.  His promo's and matches were both top notch.  The promo's with RVD were the best.

Its close between his two main heel runs as Stone Cold... I think if they'd kept going with his post wm17 heel character he would be much better of than he is now...

How about when he was "Superstar" Steve Austin in ECW? That was Austin at his best.

the smackdown where vince gets austin, angle, taker, kane and jericho to agree to be team wwf is hilarious.

austin sings 'i am the champion'(queen),

angle sings 'jimmy crack corn'

and then austin repeats everything vince says.

holy shit i was in tears, i still got that on tape somewhere.

I voted for Alliance Austin..

Remember the episode where Angle, Steve and Vince were in the same room and Kurt was getting ready for his match with Booker T, doing stretches in front of a seated Austin..

"Would you tell him...to get his ASS out of my face?" lol

Or the Cowboy hats :D

Or remember the show where Vince was trying to get some time with Torrie Wilson and Austin interupts them in the shower lol He cracked up at the end when he told them he'd leave them alone and "go get some coffee", I don't know if anyone remembers it but you just knew Austin and Vince burst out laughing when the scene was over..

I can't believe you left "SuperStar" Steve Austin off the list. ECW Austin was Great. Some of his best Promo work. That is where the "real" Stone Cold Character came from. Then WWf almost killed it dead making him the "Ringmaster."

I loved Alliance Austin but I had to go with the first Stone Cold Steve Austin, such a badass and so cutting edge.

The Paranoid, Bionic Redneck WWF Champion that Austin was from July until November of last year was awesome.  He grew out his goatee, which made him look like a psycho, and his music added to the paranoia persona.  I think Austin is one of the greatest heels of all time.  For second, I would pick Austin from KOTR 96, to Summerslam 97.  Total badass who didn't give a shit about the fans, but got cheered anyway for his excellent wrestling and his great promos.......

Stunning Steve Austin is my all time favorite character.

He was such a great heel...

Watching tapes of the Austin-Steamboat feud...great stuff.

Stunning Steve was the ultimate old school heel.

Original bad ass WWF Austin is of course the best. But his stuff during the summer with Angle, Vince and eventually the Alliance was hilarious and a welcome change.
