Guest Nevermortal Posted July 12, 2003 Report Posted July 12, 2003 Seasons & SoH were both slower (for the most part) albums, which is typically not what thrash is about (being fast....hella fast.) So yeah, Reign in Blood should be there. Either that, Hell Awaits, or Show No Mercy. Stormtroopers of Death should be on that list.

And Pantera should not be on there. And Rust In Peace should be replaced by Peace Sells. Besides that, no real complaints.

I wouldn't so much agree with some of the statements given above, and I'd CERTAINLY disagree with some of the examples on that list..particularly the first one.. Thrash isn't about completely tight precision, or even a whole lot of variation. It's loud, it's fast, it's heavy, and (at its best) is just a little sloppy and ugly, with balls-out shredding solos and angry lyrics. Sort of 70's punk meets 80's speed metal, in a way.

I only disagree with Cowboys From Hell. Replace it with Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?, and I don't have much against this list. Heh, interesting. On my playlist, Slayer - "Angel Of Death" just started playing.
