Question

Recommended Posts

Okay, being a UK'er on dial up, i dont get access to TNA matches, and although i read the excellent diatribes on here, I'm a little confused on something. As far as i knew Jarrett was a heel, this was backed up when i downloaded a Destiny Awaits video package for Raven and Jarrett, with Jarrett being attacked by a babyface Raven. Then i see a picture of Sting (who HAS to be a face, even TNA wouldn't turn him heel) and also read he's attacked by Russo, so my question is...

What disposition is Jarrett?

Thanks, from a lowly TNA wonderer.

He's a face.

Meh, I'll go into it more. During the Jarrett/Raven feud, Jarrett was the face, and Raven was the heel, but Raven was turning the crowd with his promos and storylines and whatnot, that the fans turned on Jarrett, and cheered Raven. Then, Jarrett gets dubbed Triple J, and begins his feud with Gilbirti, as Jarrett was a tweener, and Glen was the heel. During the match, Russo ran in, hit Glen with the bat, and Jarrett goes over. So Jarrett is a heel now. Then we head into Jarrett vs. Raven vs. AJ at the 1 Year Anniversary, and Russo turns on Jarrett, hitting him with a guitar or bat, and AJ hits the Styles Clash for the win and the title. Now, Russo is with AJ, and AJ is a heel, and Jarrett is back to being a face, feuding with Russo and now, Joe E. Legend.

That's Russo's booking for ya.

And guess who is apparently partially to blame for said Russo booking? Why, it's Triple J himself! You know, because Russo is such a great on-screen character and all that he should completely overshadow the champion.

To oversimplify it, the Heel Section despise him, so he's a face

I really don't understand the wish-washy booking there. There was no apparent build to why Russo was helping Jarrett for one week, then turned his back on him the next week. Before the title match, and Russo's return to TV, JJ and Russo were feuding. It just boggles my mind. The fans were clamoring for Jarrett to turn heel and Raven as the face, so neither changes. Instead, Raven gets pushed on the back burner with Douglas and Jarrett stays on the top rung of the ladder in title matches and main event feuds. I just don't understand that-- give the viewers what they want, not what the bookers think they should want. I can't imagine Jeff is stupid enough to keep himself on top when it doesn't make good business sense-- this company is small enough that he should be making all sorts of sacrifices to make things work.

I've never felt TNA has had good, clear, logical story lines. I'm not going to blame Russo, or the Jarretts or Raven, because I don't know the booking dynamics, but the story's suck. There are so many people who turn for no reason, appear one week and then never come back and flat out change gimmicks that it is hard to follow.

Like what ever happened to Malice, Sabu, Pringle, Sanders, Piper, etc, etc. As a viewer, I don't give a damn what happens backstage (that's what my smark side is for!), I want clear reasoning.

"Sanders isn't coming back because the bookers don't like him." No, that doesn't make sense from a product stand point. It should be "The remnants of SEX didn't think he could get the job done, so he get beat up and kicked out of the group, leaving him with no allies and no TNA contract." That would at least make sense! I want reasons why people are on my screen, and why they no longer are on the show. The backstage stuff should have no bering on what's on the show itself.

Xpac was the surprise guest at the 1 Year show for the main event? Great, but there was no logical storyline reason for him to be in it. He wasn't feuding with Sting or Jarrett when he left, and he hasn't appeared since. As a matter of fact, he was on the side with Russo. A Pac/Russo feud was established on the net, but never addressed on TNA TV, and then they side with each other. So, basically, he was put in the huge match because he was WWE C team player, not because of story lines or quality ring work? That sucks.

There is no continuity in anything. The product is still small enough that they should have no problems with story lines or feuds. Argh! Anybody else feel this way?

Edit- More stuff.

Thanks! Just hope we get TNA over here one day or year (that is if it's around for another year)
