Promo: Who can you trust?

The day brightens in Philadelphia. The traffic is busy, the gangster's are smoking, and the SWF is bringing Lockdown to the First Union center once more. The Suicide King, is already at the office created for him inside the arena. He reviews the notes, the cards, the financial statements as well as bundles of more paperwork. However a familiar aroma starts to fill his room. He takes a small whiff of the mellowing scent, and it doesn't take him long to figure out one of the Kronikz is coming to see him. But which one?

CRASH!!!

The door flies open, knocked right off it's hinges and into the room, a crack down the center of it. King grabs the top of his hair for a moment, looking down for a second.

“Not now...” he mumbles to himself as he looks in the doorway to see only a foot there. He already knows who the man is.

“Why'd you wreck my door, Drazon?” The King shows great resistance as he says that.

“I wanted to make an entrance.” Drazon sarcastically retorts.

“Whatever. I'll take it out of your check. You better be careful, you're fines are starting to catch up with your paycheck, pretty soon you'll be paying me to work here.”

“Fuck that! You know why I'm here.”

“Not really but I bet something on Lockdown has to do with it.”

“You damn right it does! Why the hell didn't you tell me he was back!? And why the hell are you making me fight him!?”

“I figured you were up for the challenge.” King says with a small smirk.

“He was one of my last friends in this league. Bo is gone, Divefire, Stubby, Lerrin... I thought he was never coming back. You were the only one left in the group. However they are all gone now, because of you. So why, 'my friend' have you brought him back?”

“He came back on his own free will, Jamie.”

Drazon coldly looks into the eyes of the Suicide King.

“I don't want to fight my friends. I've hurt them everytime.”

“Oh but you will, Drazon. Don't forget... you like to hurt people.”

King gives JD a wink, which makes the hardcore maniac clench his fists. He clearly hesitates, gritting his teeth as he does so.

“Why?”

“You let your aggression return, Drazon. It was good to see. However this time, your aggression best be at the top. He knows your moves.”

“So. I know his. He may feel unpredictable, but he's as easily taken down as the rest.”

“Prove it.”

“I can't...” Drazon hesitates before continuing, pausing to breath once more. “I don't want to hurt my friends.”

“He's not your friend, Drazon. You have no friends. I'm the only thing close to a friend that you have, Drazon.”

Drazon looks up at the King.

“You're a cockroach.”

King smiles at the comment, not letting it bother him.

“Cute. However remember Drazon, I control this league. I tell you what, if you can beat Sacred, and impress me enough. I'll see what I can do about working you back up to the top of the card...” King's smile grows wider. “Where you belong.”

Drazon smiles a bit, the touch of the ego obviously worked. He turns around and walks through the doorway. King takes a seat back down in his desk.

“I'll bill you for the door.” King calls out but it doesn't receive a response.

Drazon continues walking down the hallway. He takes a pause, pulls a pack of smokes out of his pocket, flips it open to see a set of dubies. Drazon pulls one out and sparks the joint. He takes a moment to inhale, before walking down the hall while smoking his reefer. He turns the corner, and bumps into an old face. A real old face(burn), Grand Slam Mark Stevens. Drazon looks up at the slightly taller man, gives a nod.

“How you doing, Mark?”

“Pretty good. Hey look man, I saw the card. Lots of luck against Sacred man. You two should do a good battle.”

“Heh. Thanks dude.”

Drazon pauses to inhale some more pot then roaches the joint onto his hand. Stevens looks at the painful tactic and shakes his head.

“Stressed out?” he questions politely.

“A little. Just the usual Suicide King bullshit.”

“I guess I don't need to tell you this, but don't trust him.”

“I don't trust anyone, Mark.”

“Heh... nor should you always be trusted.”

Drazon cracks a grin at the comment.

“Hey man, I got the ring set up and stuff. Want to take some of the TnA kids to the ring, rough them up a bit?”

“Heh. Some other time, dude.”

“Of course. If I don't see you before Lockdown man, here's hoping you take it to Sacred.”

With that, Stevens walks away. Drazon looks forward, shaking his head.

“I don't want to hurt my friends...” Drazon mutters to himself. His head down, coldly looking at the floor. The thoughts flowing through his head, the one the Suicide King had said so bluntly.

“You have no friends.”

Suddenly his head snaps up, he growls and his eyes are rolled into the back of his head. His body shakes as he coldly looks forward into nothingness.

“I have no friends.”

Really great. I was a bit worried that throwing out JD/Sacred right away might be spoiling what could be somethin big later on, but you've both gone all-out with these promos and set it up wonderfully. I'm really interested at this new tack for JD--the cross between not wanting to hurt the people that he respects vs. the desire to fulfill his potential is pretty darn compelling.
