Booker's IC reign

Recommended Posts

Guest Anglesault

So let's see.

First, he has to chase Xian (a man that Goldust beat clean) for two months.

When he finally beats him, it's because Austin came out and stacked all the odds in Booker's favor. Damnit, things like "tile changes hands on DQ" should be a tool that a HEEL uses and that a face has to over come. Not a clear cut advantage for the face.

Now, this week, he's beat clean with an unprettier (not ever a low blow) after a ref bump that BOOKER caused (can't even say Xian fucked himself), is pinned AGAIN by Xian, only to have Austin ONCE AGAIN come out and save Booker's ass.

When exactly is Book going to look like someone who has earned the IC title?

...It's two weeks old

Oh, right

"Wait til next week! It will get better! You're not giving them enough time! They have no reason to write good stuff right away!"

One reason why they can't start writing decent stuff now. Just one. Tis all I ask. I want to know why I have to wait three months for Book to look like a good champ?

AS, I hear you man.......but, let's at least wait another week when or when he defends his title again. I just think you're jumping the gun a little here.

I think the fact that they couldn't even make the first week good is a testiment to their stupidity.

Damn, who would be next...these 2 guys have been feuding for a while......and where the fuck has Goldust been, is he in the doghouse or something. It would make sense for Book to offer an open challenge and Goldust comes out from the back to answer it. A clean battle between 2 friends for the gold.

Booking the feud with Orton further kills the title because Book couldn't be in the same league as HHH and now has to feud with his cronie, where he will be cast aside from the REAL main event programs. Makes him look like a second rate mid carder rather than a championship caliber wrestler the belt should appeal to. Orton after beating Foley at SS? Yes. Now? Hell no.

I disagree.

How many times did Christian get himself disqualified or counted out to keep the title? That particular stipulation is meant to level out the playing field, not give the face the advantage.

I agree tonight's booking was uber-stupid, but last week's win was one of the best booked WWE matches in months.

Randy "Suckbag" Orton at all? No.

We're not dreaming up perfect feuds here, Sault, we're trying to properly book with what we are left with.

Why anyone is ever optimistic about anything WWE does is beyond me. I expect them to fuck everything up. Period.

Seriously...after the past two and a half years...what reason is there, really, to think that WWE will get anything right? Give me a good reason.

There's one thing they've done right this past year...

The WWE Title match was the main event.

They COULD have done like WM8 or 11 and made some other match the main, but they didn't.

I see your point Patrick, but what could you possibly add with that attitude. Conversation would be a lot worse without us optomistic folk.

I don't see any reason to be optimistic about WWE.

I enjoy NWA-TNA and my local indy fed GCW.

I still watch WWE out of force of habit and because they employ people that I enjoy watching, even though I know they won't be used or pushed properly. Nowadays, when WWE does get something right, it's an exception to the rule.

I think we ALL watch out of habit. Admit it, you know deep down you are waiting for that unbelievable turnaround, and you'll watch until it happens. You ARE optomistic!

You know, I look at the buildup they gave Zach Gowen and I see that they ARE still capable of building a good storyline and having it pay off.

Those just come fewer and farther between these days, sadly.

That's how I started to think about a year ago. I don't lose any sleep over how they book RAW. I don't love wrestling. I enjoy it alot when it's good, but it's just entertainment. There are plenty of other things you can do to entertain yourself. With the exception of the free Wrestlemania webcast (I didn't even make it to the main event), I haven't watched wrestling in a year now. Life goes on. They will fuck everything up and that's the bottom line.

NWA TNA is a lot worse then WWE. And the worst thing is- Most of WWE's tv is free while TNA costs $10

Does it matter? Either of these men can work a match...

Booker is STILL rubbed from that god damn Best of 7 series....

HE HAS NOT HAD A SINGLE GOD DAMN GOOD MATCH SINCE!

That's not true- Booker has had good matches since the Best of 7.

As I've said before- Booker is like Davey Boy Smith. He can be carried but can't carry.

Hence why his matches with Christian suck
