Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Ever think that was because of the BOOKING of the match? Besides, everyone here thought Jericho would win too - but that was mainly because "the WWE wouldn't be stupid enough". Big Show, Jericho - whatever CC. Guest Adrian 3:16 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Umm...no. Jericho has not been getting buried ever since then. If he was even close to being buried, he wouldn't even be on TV at all in the first place for months or all his TV segments would be ones where he gets completely mocked and loses in one minute squashes to mid-card or lower wrestlers with no offense. No one is saying that is what's happening to Jericho. What we're saying is that for someone as great as he is, he deserves a lot better than what he gets. Jericho is second only to Angle as the total package, great on the mic and in the ring. When he's made to be a complete pussy, people get understandably upset. I will say though that this year, aside from the HBK job at Mania, Jericho has been potrayed a hell of a lot better than last year, when was jobbing to Cena and picking up shit. The Hi-Light Reel is perfect for him and plays to his strengths nicely. But he still has a ways to go. When the day comes that Jericho can fight HHH, Goldberg, or even someone like The Rock or HBK and the result is not a foregone conclusion, then we'll talk. Guest Vaidin Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Yes, this post is very late of me, but I had a problem with my computer and I couldn't post until literally today. Oh well. It was written a while ago as well. bob barron: "How will it be a "different" match? Since it won't be given as much time as the WM match it probably won't be as good." They will probably play off their previous match in this match and that will cause it to be different. Even it might not be as good, it's still likely to be a good match and that alone is worth watching. "After Wrestlemania he becomes Triple H's running buddy." And your problem with this, is what? So tell me how it's somehow not very good for Jericho to work as an ally with the top heel of RAW when that top heel does want to work with him as well in the storylines. If anything, this legitimizes Jericho since he was treated almost as an equal to HHH. "After Backlash he does nothing and ends up in a midcard match at Judgement Day." He does nothing? The first night after Backlash was the start of Jericho's Hi-lite Reel and he got plenty of time every week with it. Then the midcard match you speak of was Jericho entering the Battle Royal for the returning IC title, which was a pretty big deal, and he lost because he was pushed off the top rope and thus betrayed by Christian. "After Judgement Day he gets into a feud with Goldberg and loses." Yep, he lost after a match where he had even more offense than Goldberg did and was dominating him for a little while. "Man- That feud with Shawn did WONDERS for his career. God bless the almighty rub of Shawn Michaels." What's your point? Who said feuds had to be about elevating other wrestlers? It seemed like this fued was more about him getting the chance to work with a childhood hero. Apparently, that's not important to you, though. It's not as if Jericho's career would have skyrocketed after that fued even if he won the match cleanly. Very, very few wrestlers get elevated that much just from one fued. "The FBI have been on TV for months and they're getting buried." No, they haven't. They haven't been treated well in general, but they're not close to being buried. The very fact that they have gotten the best of Brock Lesnar and Undertaker from time to time shows that they are a threat. Every time, they attack a very credible wrestler like Lesnar or UT once at a time, they get their butts kicked as they should. Basically every time they actually work together to attack these 2 wrestlers at the same time, they win. "What do you call getting stunned last night." Not that bad at all since Austin is an extremely credible guy. Of course, it shouldn't have happened, but it doesn't actually hurt Jericho. Plus with the way Jericho is, while he can't physically win all his battles, he uses his intelligence like he is now trying to get Linda McMahon to get rid of Austin. I'd say that balances it out. "Or the week before where HBK "outclasses" him on the mic." I didn't see any outclassing of the mic there. Plus, this segment is what lead to their rematch so that's definitely a good thing. "Or the week before that where Stacy mocks his small dick." Also, the week where he and Test beat the crap out of Steiner. "Or the week before that where he loses in a tag match to the Dudleyz." Yep, but then again Storm was the one who was pinned to lose the match, not Jericho. They are also basically a thrown-together tag team for the WWE losing to a team that's been around for years so I don't have a problem with it really. "Or the week before that where he loses in another tag match." This is the only one I really agree with that was bad for him. "Or at Bad Blood where he jobbed to Goldberg." You already pointed this out and I explained above. "Or how the week before that he gets no-sold by Goldberg." So? Even the Rock gets no-sold by Goldberg and he hit him like a dozen chairshots. Strangely enough, Goldberg does sell to Jericho when he's in the matches, though. "WHAT A PUSH!" Actually, it's been an overall good push. The very fact that Jericho is on TV so much (even more than the world champion a good deal of the time as well) shows that there is a lot of focus on him being important to RAW so he's not even close to being buried. Adrian 3:16: "No one is saying that is what's happening to Jericho. What we're saying is that for someone as great as he is, he deserves a lot better than what he gets. Jericho is second only to Angle as the total package, great on the mic and in the ring. When he's made to be a complete pussy, people get understandably upset." I realize that, but I'm simply tired of people throwing out the word "burial" so often that's it doesn't mean anything when these kind of people say it. While I agree that Jericho should be used better, I don't think he's really all that great or Angle for that matter, either. I see Eddie Guerrero as the real total package. "I will say though that this year, aside from the HBK job at Mania, Jericho has been potrayed a hell of a lot better than last year, when was jobbing to Cena and picking up shit. I don't think Jericho should be the kind of person who fight such strong main eventers and look like he could defeat them. I mean, you already have all those wrestlers listed and more. I really prefer Jericho to be the sneaky bastard heel more so than the badass heel. We have a good deal of the latter, but not enough of the former and I think it's what Jericho is best at.
