Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Yeah I mean...If you can find something to do with FRICKING kevin nash... Then you should be able to find something for a Guy whom can still go and still gets a reaction...
Guest croweater Report post Posted July 15, 2003 I'm not pumped at all about the Y2J/Michael's match because I can't see exactly why it's taking place. Neither guy has had a problem with the other recently, even in the Hilight reel there is no real reason for a match as it showed that Jericho didn't really care about the screw-job. (Unless Michael's is pissed cos Jericho OWNS him on the mic.)
Guest Vaidin Report post Posted July 15, 2003 "I can watch the Wrestlemania DVD for it." So? The next meeting will probably be a different match and may actually be better than the other one especially since they've had a match on TV already. "Why would I want to see a rematch when in the first one- Shawn went over clean and Jericho has been getting buried ever since?" Umm...no. Jericho has not been getting buried ever since then. If he was even close to being buried, he wouldn't even be on TV at all in the first place for months or all his TV segments would be ones where he gets completely mocked and loses in one minute squashes to mid-card or lower wrestlers with no offense. (Unless Michael's is pissed cos Jericho OWNS him on the mic.) I think the reason for the match is that Jericho wants his "WrestleMania Revenge". It's a simple rematch, which alone is more than enough of a reason for the match to take place.
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 What's the point of getting excited about HBK v. Jericho??? They did it once and completely fucked up the finish and killed Jericho's heat as a result. Tell me why I would want to see a rematch. There's no real answer on why you'd want to see a rematch. Either you want one or not, I don't see any way to convince you that you want one. Why be excited? Because Jericho is still a very good wrestler who puts on good matches, and his matches are often fun to watch. Reason enough for me. Plus, if - and I do recognize that this is a big if - Michaels decides to bring his A-game as well, then there's two reasons to be excited. Why have a rematch? Nothing wrong with "2 guys just don't like each other so they want to fight" in my eyes. If you want, we can make up some shit excuse about shampoo in someone's spilled coffee if dislike isn't reason enough.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 15, 2003 So? The next meeting will probably be a different match and may actually be better than the other one especially since they've had a match on TV already. How will it be a "different" match? Since it won't be given as much time as the WM match it probably won't be as good. Umm...no. Jericho has not been getting buried ever since then. Hmmm- Let's see- After Wrestlemania he becomes Triple H's running buddy. After Backlash he does nothing and ends up in a midcard match at Judgement Day. After Judgement Day he gets into a feud with Goldberg and loses. Man- That feud with Shawn did WONDERS for his career. God bless the almighty rub of Shawn Michaels. If he was even close to being buried, he wouldn't even be on TV at all in the first place for months The FBI have been on TV for months and they're getting buried. or all his TV segments would be ones where he gets completely mocked and loses in one minute squashes to mid-card or lower wrestlers with no offense. What do you call getting stunned last night. Or the week before where HBK "outclasses" him on the mic. Or the week before that where Stacy mocks his small dick. Or the week before that where he loses in a tag match to the Dudleyz. Or the week before that where he loses in another tag match. Or at Bad Blood where he jobbed to Goldberg. Or how the week before that he gets no-sold by Goldberg. WHAT A PUSH!

I was excited for the Wrestlemania match- It was the match I was most looking forward to. But then they totally fucked up the finish by having Shawn go over and make Jericho look like a total idiot. Why get excited for a rematch? If Shawn goes over again then wooo Shawn goes over again. If Jericho goes over cleanly it really doesn't matter since he blew the big one at Mania. If Jericho goes over via interference then great- It took two guys to be a wrestler who doesn't work house shows. I just can't get excited for a match like that

Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 15, 2003 You know when I talk to marks in various places...They don't treat Jericho as if he has been buried...They still see him as a threat...

Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 15, 2003 You know when I talk to marks in various places...They don't treat Jericho as if he has been buried...They still see him as a threat... THANK YOU! Just because 'smarks' don't like the way Jericho is treated and think his career's dead (which is just an utterly ridiculous statement), doesn't mean marks don't see Jericho as a threat. Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Yep most of the marks just say "He is funny and Awesome in the ring" Never do I hear the target demo go "Jericho? U mean that guy who lost to John Cena, the Plucky Newcomer with no discernable Personality 3 times last summer after being squashed and buried like a Dead Rotting Corpse...Ha you CERTAINTLY must be kidding me...Oh lord I need a laugh...Somebody help my emotions...I need MISAWA/KAWADA NOW!" Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Yeah, cause it's not like the 'marks' are watching the same show we are - with Jericho pickin up dog shit, Jericho losing to a cripple, Jericho getting his ass kicked night-in-and-night-out... No, they're watching the show where Jericho is booked strong... Eugh. Put Jericho in the main event and see how they react. They won't buy it. Ask those marks if Jericho had a chance against Goldberg.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Sure, RRR, they watched the same show as us, but they don't analyze the show like we do.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Exactly. RRR; have you forgotten the oldest doctrine in the Wrestling Business... Entertainment First. Jericho entertains those said marks and thus they treat him like a credible asset
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 15, 2003 So "Jericho being HHH and Stephanies bitch" needs profound insight to understand? Jericho's HUGE drop in card status is something one needs to put under a microscope to see? Jericho losing to Flair and Michaels on the two biggest PPV's of the year is something only we smarks can truly grasp? Jericho being a total PUSSY is one of those subtleties in life - blink and you missed it -? Jericho losing to nearly every single opponent who then goes on to lose to HHH makes him look STRONG? Marks can enjoy Jericho, but taking him seriously as a contender?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Rikishi entertains, so fans see him as a world title threat?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Yeah because all it takes is One little *nudge* and your there. Hell, The Big Show was used just as bad as Jericho and Now look it...Show is a credible threat.

Just because 'smarks' don't like the way Jericho is treated and think his career's dead (which is just an utterly ridiculous statement), doesn't mean marks don't see Jericho as a threat. Jericho wins a match every two months. The fans didn't think he could beat Nash. The fans didn't think he could beat FGB. The fans didn't think he could beat HBK They had an opportunity for that nudge at WM. They blew it BUT OGMOMG Barron, he kicked Shawn in the balls! That's just as good as a win! In fact, if every wrestler lost all their matches, but hit a low blow afterwards, they'd ALL be MEing!

Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 15, 2003 None of us here... But you know the marks will buy it... RRR tends to neglect or doesn't want to admit it but this little community of ours is so fucking small it's hardly even noticeable... If the Marks buy it...then it's all that matters.
