Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 - Jericho, like always, is a fucking genius in these Hi-Lite Reel segments. Plus, the look complemented his well. - Since Nash seems to be winding down as far the WWE wishing to use him in the ring, we'll soon get "Coach" Nash or something similar. If you dodged watching WCW in 2000 because of Russo, you missed out on some funny shit. - How you can interpret Test's character as the typical woman beater. He isn't afraid of picking on Trish because it's an easy fight, but when Nash and Steiner want him in the ring, he sacrified Victoria (no allegiances) to have his own way. You can chalk it up to usual heel shenanigans, but I like to think there's at least something more than, "I left Passions for this!" - The heels trying to get Austin thrown off Raw was a nice touch to the GM angle. I didn't enjoy what it amount to later in the show, but at least it worked to a certain extent. - Lance Sto... Mav... Skip. - La Resistance still rule all in this gimmick. Everything else that segment, well, I liked how they didn't sing the National Anthem twice. - Randy Orton's push continues. Not a great worker, but I'm digging the charisma. - Tommy Dreamer never really being with them, but never solifying himself as against them. And if you looked in the background when everyone was chanting, Steven Richards and Victoria were kneeling down to cheer right in his face, which made me chuckle. - Theodore Long suggesting Snoop Dogg take the place of Steve Austin. - Thankfully, we probably won't see Booker vs. Christian anymore. - Molly was dressing a little more provacatively last night. Maybe Jindrak succeeded. - The only thing I can say about the main event is that acknowledging Kane's burn as psychological was a great way to silence us. Be aware that I'm nitpicking here as far as what I liked. Raw sucked, but there were a few positives inside eighty-five pages of negatives.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Randy Orton's push continues. Not a great worker, Nor is he good, decent or watchable. I like to call him "Suckbag." & Test is worthless in every sense of the word. - The only thing I can say about the main event is that acknowledging Kane's burn as psychological was a great way to silence us. How so?

How so? How could you not chuckle at the "protein shake" line? And I've always had Test in my "sort of like" category, so any push he gets doesn't really set me off. I think there were some complaining about how Kane went from having "burn marks" (the deadly mascara) to looking fine. While you can tell the WWE came up with the psychological parts AFTER the demasking, it devalues the thumbs up of it all, but at least they had some partial closure on that unlike millions of other items. How so? How could you not chuckle at the "protein shake" line? It wasn't delivered well, any of the three times he tried it. And I've always had Test in my "sort of like" category, so any push he gets doesn't really set me off. Unfortunate. Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 15, 2003 I liked the Highlight Reel too. It was great how Jericho and Bishoff actually brought up points against Steve that made sense. And I wish Jericho left his hair down more often...it looks better. I'm happy that they are FINALLY starting the RVD/Kane feud, but I will not be a happy camper if RVD gets squashed next week and that is the end of the feud. La Resistance rules! I love their over-the-top heel antics. But my ears did not like the Dudleys (especially Bubba). Leave it to Lillian boys. The petition thing was cool, and I also liked the way Dreamer reacted. He wasn't really with the idea, but he didn't totally reject it either.

Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted July 15, 2003 But just last week, he was so hideous that SCSA couldn't look him in the face. It's quality control issues like this that make me wonder why after watching Raw, I don't just draw a warm bath and open up a vein. As Anglesault said about a year or so ago, if the feds want to look into WWE distributing or drug abuse, look no further than Vince himself and the storylines that his creative team have come up with. They are on serious mind altering shit.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 And I've always had Test in my "sort of like" category, so any push he gets doesn't really set me off. Unfortunate. I think that one is slightly under unfortunate when you realize that I like Nash and Pogo the Clown, an XPW wrestler whose gimmick is based off of John Wayne Gacy, serial killer racist. He's also a FAT HOSS, so it's like you're getting the best/worst of both worlds. But just last week, he was so hideous that SCSA couldn't look him in the face. I don't think you've realized the ugliness of just naturally looking like the seed of Igor and King Kong Bundy. Though, in all seriousness, he is pretty ugly. Not exactly deformed looking, but, ehhh. Read the rest of that paragraph will I clearly said that I don't want Kane to squash RVD. I'm just glad Rob is actually, you know, doing something.

Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted July 15, 2003 If I was responsible for the death of a crash test dummy and then had sex with that same dead crash test dummy... and my brother was a leather-wearing dead badass biker that was friends with a rich guy and a red-faced dude... and my house was set ablaze by a fat guy in white makeup that turned out to be my father... and an ex-g/f spread around that my dick was charred black and tiny... and people were constantly making fun of me about my clothing... and if people constantly referred to me as a "big red retard"... ...i'd have psychological scars too... I don't feel like getting burnt. The pun is strong in this one. Only reason that was the subtitle is similar to "The Little Things" column on 411, I'm appreciativ of certain things throughout all the crappiness.

Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted July 16, 2003 SHUTUP! I can dream! RVD will win the feud, I'm telling ya. Well, you were right about Benoit and Guerrero in the U.S. title tournament. Hopefully, you're right about this too. To add to the original topic: I liked Evolution's theme music and their new T-shirts. I liked that they announced next week's matches in advance. I liked that Goldberg wasn't there.

Guest Ray Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Why the Highlight reel sucked- It made Austin, WHO IS NOT AN ACTIVE WRESTLER! look superior to Jericho, who IS an active wrestler.
Guest Chris Jericho for World Champion Report post Posted July 16, 2003 - Theodore Long suggesting Snoop Dogg take the place of Steve Austin. This is good how? Snoop Dogg is just another moronic rapper. But I would elect Theordore Long. Only he can run RAW and Playa's Incorporated, only Theodore Long can do it all, while being a referee! Guest Goodear Report post Posted July 17, 2003 Randy Orton's push continues. Not a great worker, Nor is he good, decent or watchable. I like to call him "Suckbag." Not to start this up again, but Orton really has gotten better in the ring since he came back from the latest injury. The guys bumping is really fun (I personally really enjoyed how you could see him shaking his head NOOoooo as he was getting 3D'd) and he's getting a better sense of ring awareness all the time. He's not great by any stretch, but he's making inroads, which is a good thing.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2003 What I find amusing is that there is more emotion and more depth in a 20-minute cartoon [X-Men: Evolution] than there is in the whole two-hour crack bullshit known as Raw, or the wannabe-hip know as SD.
