Guest DarkHollywood Report post Posted July 16, 2003 A few people in the last half hour told me Vader died. I'm not believing it, because they never listed a website, but to clear it up, does anyone know? ::Not trying to be funny. Vader rules::
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted July 16, 2003 WrestlingDotCom(?) reported it first, but...GASP!...it turned out to be a hoax/fake.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Firstly, if you look about half way down this forum, you'll see that there's a WHOLE big discussion thread on the subject. You'd find your answer there, instead of posting up a needless thread. Though, I will cut you slack since you seem new and assume you made a mistake. So I'll just answer your question with a no. Someone posted up a report saying he died and it was later confirmed to be false. Edit: Fuck, I hate it when I make a nice post and someone makes a better one. Guest DarkHollywood Report post Posted July 16, 2003 My Bad. Generally the good stuff is at the top and I never thought to look at the bottom of the page. Thanks for saying Vader isn't dead. He Rules! (WWE better hire him again...one day...)
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Yes, he did. Very sad, very tragic. It was after he took off his mask, looked around the room as a changed man, made his peace with his long-lost son... . He then died, his body disappearing into the light side of the Force. Guest mach7 Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I love how all of this pseudo-Vader love [see the other thread] comes out ONLY when people think he's passed away.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I love how all of this pseudo-Vader love [see the other thread] comes out ONLY when people think he's passed away. Well Vader has always been a favourite of people dating back to 1992 and his feud with Sting. It's not like people are just making up the fact they enjoy him. Many people do "show love" when a wrestler passes away, even if they never really liked the guy. When Owen Hart died, that was the best example of it I believe. When he died, there were tons of people that I know "in the real world" that magically became an Owen Hart fan, while once he was alive they hated the guy. Yes but Vader has always been regarded as an IWC darling because of his great WCW matches so it's not much of a surprise that a lot of people were big fans of the guy
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I love how all of this pseudo-Vader love [see the other thread] comes out ONLY when people think he's passed away. What the hell??? I've heard plenty of Vader love before this hoax ever happened. Everytime the "has there ever been a good hoss" question is asked Vader is the first name mentioned. Guest acnx Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I love how all of this pseudo-Vader love [see the other thread] comes out ONLY when people think he's passed away. Vader has always been considered one of the best big men to step in the ring. He's always been one of my favorites, and I'm sure I'm not alone there. The Vader love didn't come out just because we thought he had passed away. When he's out of the spotlight for a long time, people tend not to talk about him so much, but that doesn't change the fact that a lot of us here think he's a great wrestler. Should we just start threads every day about older wreslters we rarely see any more, to show our love, just incase they do pass on sometime soon?

When he died, there were tons of people that I know "in the real world" that magically became an Owen Hart fan, while once he was alive they hated the guy. My excuse for that was "I loved to hate him." I have always been a vader fan ever since I saw him in WCW sometime in 1992, and whenever I talk to a non-fan about wrestling I bring up Vader's name. Guest DarkHollywood Report post Posted July 16, 2003 I've been a Vader fan back when he debuted in WCW in 1990-91 but I'm not a crazy fan that will do anything to watch him wrestle and stuff like that. I just enjoyed his matches. Until he became a watered down pussy in 1997 (Thank you WWF)

Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2003 I was simply in AWE of Vader when I saw his debut, systematically destroying Tom Zenk... he had a great run in WCW. I would love to shake the man's hand if I ever met him, because he entertained me to a great degree. and yes, I marked out for the helmet, too.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2003 I MARKED FOR THE ELEPHANT HEAD SPEWING SMOKE DAMN IT! I gotta have a picture of that. This is the best I could find. No smoke, but the helmet is in the pic.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Hypothetically speaking, if he were dead, would he be buried in the helmet? I can just see the open casket, with the smoke spewing head right there, just looking surreal.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2003 Here are a couple more pics of the Helmet.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2003 Vader, another prime example of an unstoppable monster heel, a former world champion, who soon became a suckass babyface courtesy of Vince after jobbing to Shawn Michaels.
Guest AndrewisyourHero Report post Posted July 19, 2003 Here are a couple more pics of the Helmet. Does anyone know when Vader switched over to the mask we currently associate him with?
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted July 19, 2003 His debut is a good example of how to do it right, they were hyping his appearance throughout the show, saying they had no idea what to expect, they just knew he was huge. He flattens Zenk (who gets the customary no-sold dropkick) and he's off. You can't imagine something like that working again, however. The crowd would DIE. I'll readily admit I didn't give a shit about Owen when he died, but I was only a casual fan and hadn't watched many of his matches outside of markdom. I have since, and realise his greatness. Guest Prototype450 Report post Posted July 20, 2003 Vader is one bad ass mother fucker. That helmet was so bad ass it scared me ass a kid. He was the only hoss that i know to have true "Cat like quickness". A-Train can't fuckin do a moonsault can he?!
Guest DarkHollywood Report post Posted July 20, 2003 He probably switched to his better recognized mask in 1992 (at least that's the earliest I remember it, didn't watch too much WCW in summer-fall of 1991)
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted July 20, 2003 I just enjoyed his matches. Until he became a watered down pussy in 1997 (Thank you WWF) I always thought that Hogan was responsible for killing the aura of Vader. Hogan killed a lot of Vader's heat by no-selling his powerbomb at a Clash of the Champions.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted July 20, 2003 Vader no sold Hogan's leg drop at Superbrawl V and laughed in his face. That was pretty funny. Hogan no sold everyone's finisher just about. He probably did kill some of vaders heat, but in WWF, he was still pretty awesome until you know who didn't want to do the J-O-B to him, and Vince Russo writing didn't help him either (in 1997-98)
