Guest tpww7 Report post Posted July 16, 2003 From the ROH Message Board As many of you know CM Punk will now be in Zero-One on August 9th so he will miss the Dayton show. We will have his replacement match named on Sunday and its going to be really good. Also, Chad Collyer just pulled himself off 7/19 for Japan killing the angle we did on 6/28 and the six months of build up between him and Stryker leading to our big show (do I sound frustrated?). Jimmy Rave is going to try to make it in to take his place. Right now I'd say its 50/50. If he doesn't make it we'll have another suitable replacement, although it might screw up the new tag team that was set to debut (nice tease, huh?). One last little scoop with some good news for you people who always contribute to the message boards is that Samoa Joe will take on CM Punk in a special challenge match on 8/16 in Fairfield, CT. Will it be a title match? Only time will tell. We'll have more matches for 8/9 and 8/16 announced on Sunday or Monday and lots of updates to the site then. Thanks for understanding and all your support. I am counting the minutes till Saturday. Take care, Gabe
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 16, 2003 London gets signed by WWE. Japanese conflicts get in the way. ROH can't catch a break these days, eh? Interested to see who this new tag team is. Also interested to see if Collyer is ever brought back (since Gabe sounds none too happy with his decision). Finally, I know Punk has become an ROH favorite, but they risk turning their 2nd biggest heel face by having him go against Samoa Joe.
Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted July 16, 2003 Samoa Joe is more of a face now than heel. The crowd doesn't like Collyer, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's not asked back. With London gone, Punk's my next bet for an ROH title reign.
Chunk 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2003 Also interested to see if Collyer is ever brought back (since Gabe sounds none too happy with his decision). Killing "six months of build" is pretty lame. Can you earn that much more in Japan then?
