This was obviously done in kayfabe and for the marks. I was thinking we here at The Smart Marks could vote on who WE think should win each category. Here are the categories (keep in mind Raw and Smackdown have their own individual picks): Most Outstanding Performer Most Shocking Moment Biggest Upset Best Match Breakout Star Best Comeback Most Heated Rivalry Most Inspirational Most Hated Best Executive Decision Each of us will name our picks. If we were voting for kayfabe upsets, then yeah, Hurricane over Rock is probably right. La Res over RVD/Kane doesn't look possible on paper either. Best Match Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho, WrestleMania XIX Breakout Star Christian Best Comeback Austin (1 good match, and actually halfway entertaining again! Who woulda thunk?) Most heated rivalry: Jericho vs Michaels. Most inspirational: Chris Jericho. Most hated: Nash or Steiner. Best Executive Decison: Moving The Rock. Smackdown Most oustanding performer: Eddy G Most shocking moment: WWE not following up on Benoit's standing o at the Royal Rumble and pushing him down the card. Biggest Upset: Can't think of one. Cena vs Benoit wasn't upsetting because it's typical WWE stupidity. Breakout Star: Matt Hardy. Best Comeback: Not Kurt Angle. That's all. Most heated rivalry: Benoit vs Angle. Even under the circumstances, I was still shocked. Best Match: HBK vs. Y2J Breakout Star: No one. If I had to pick one, Christian, but not really. When he first won the gold, yes, but during his reign, it was ruined. Best Comeback: Isn't Austin the only person to come back? Oh, him and Nash. So if it's between those two, Austin, but just because it's the lesser of two evils. Most Heated Rivalry: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Micheals. Pretty damn good build towards their WM matchup. Most Inspirational: I dunno. Erm, Randy Orton for coming back from all those injuries? Most Hated: Nash. I hate that guy. Best Executive Decision: Since everybody is saying putting the Rock on Raw, I think I'll take a different route and say the bringing of the Highlight Reel. Smackdown: Most Outstanding Performer: I'll say Eddy. Kurt is great, but he was off for 3 monthes, and Benoit was good, but I think Eddy G was just a bit better. Best Executive Decision: Bringing back the IC title. SMACKDOWN Most Outstanding Performer: Eddy Guerrero. Consistent excellence for the whole year. Most Shocking Moment: Benoit's standing ovation at Royal Rumble. Biggest Upset: V1 over Rey Best Match: Angle/Benoit at RR Breakout Star: John Cena.
