Guest Goodear Report post Posted July 18, 2003 I'm only doing SmackDown because RAW is simply death and being the Most Outstanding Performer there is like being the thinnest guy at fat camp. Most Outstanding Performer- Eddie Guerrero since his return has simply been godlike, but this latest roll as the biggest scummy cheater ever just makes him all the more better. No one pulls out the quality night after night regardless of who they're facing like Eddie G. Most Shocking Moment- The Brock Lesnar-Big Show superplex thaty blew up the ring Biggest Upset- The Basham Brothers defeat Chris Benoit and Rhyno Best Match- Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin vs Tajiri and Eddie Guerrero on the SD! after uhhh whatever PPV that was where Spanish Rice won the tag belts Breakout Stars- Haas and Benjamin Best Comeback- Rey Mysterio Jr. Most Heated Rivalry- Brock Lesnar vs The Big Show Most Inspirational- Spanky Most Hated- Sean O'Haire... man I hate this guy. Bastard. Best Executive Decision- Placing the cruiserweight title match between Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio as the main event of SD!
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted July 18, 2003 RAW Most Outstanding Performer - Ric Flair - Yeah, I know what your thinking. Why Flair? Simply put, I was so impressed when he carried HHH on their Raw match for the World title that I had to give the 50+ year old Flair this category hands down. Also RAW hasn't really impressed me this much in the year 2003. Most Shocking Moment - Steve Austin's return. I picked this because of the fact that, by the time Austin came back most people thought he would be done with the sport. Biggest Upset - Hurricane over the Rock. Kudos to The Rock on this one. THIS is why the Rock is about 100 times better than HHH. The Rock is very unselfish and helps the younger guys in the business. Best Match - Y2J vs. HBK from WMXIX. Breakout Star - Christian. From nothing to IC Champion. There you go. Best Comeback - HBK. He has amazed me time and time again. He has proved to me that hopefully he isn't the old jackass that he used to be as well. Most Heated Rivalry - HHH vs. Everyone. I honestly picked this because his overbooking of himself is the main RAW storyline to all the smarks. Most Inspirational - Mick Foley. Look at the ratings, they don't lie. People are drawn to the guys personality and how much people have respect for the guy. Most Hated - HHH. Overbooked, plays more politics than George Dubya, and very mediocre in the ring. Smackdown Most Outstanding Performer - Kurt Angle - Why? You even have to ask. This friggin guy wrestled with a broken neck. Nuff said..... Most Shocking Moment - When the ring collapsed between Lesner and Big Show. The best thing that has happened in the feud. Biggest Upset - Gowen over The Big Show. A one legged man vs. a 7 foot giant. One legged man wins.......there you go. Best Match - Benoit vs. Angle Royal Rumble 2003 Breakout Star - Cena, because his mic skills are awesome and he got over despite the crappy gimmick that HE made great. Best Comeback - Angle, hands down. Most Heated Rivalry - Big Show/Lesner. Yea, I know I hate it too. Most Inspirational - Angle Most Hated - Big Show....wow he sucks Best Executive Decision - The hiring of Ultimo Dragon
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted July 18, 2003 Raw Most Outstanding Performer: The Rock He actually had me interested in RAW for the few short months he was around. Now I could care less again. Most Shocking Moment: Bringing back the IC Title None of the returns were surprising, and everyone knew Kane couldn't beat HHH. Biggest Upset: Shawn Michaels is eliminated in 2 minutes in the Royal Rumble. This shocked the hell out of me. Best Match: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania XIX Not much to pick from. This was a fun match, even with HBK's lack of selling dragging it down. It doesn't even touch the top five, let alone the top match from Smackdown. Breakout Star: Booker T He was Jobber T for most of last year. Now he has credibility. Best Comeback: The Rock Most Heated Rivalry: Rock vs. Hurricane The whole three weeks it lasted, it was by far the most entertaining seen on RAW this year. Most Inspirational: Steve Austin/Bill Goldberg (TIE) An inspiration to all the whining crybabies who get their way eventually. Most Hated: Bill Goldberg Fuck Goldberg! Best Executive Decision: Not putting the World Title on Kevin Nash like originally intended. Smackdown Most Outstanding Performer: Kurt Angle Last year's wrestler of the year, he started 2003 where he left off. Most Shocking Moment: Roddy Piper returns. Of all the returns this year, this was the one I didn't expect. Biggest Upset: Kurt Angle d. Brock Lesnar, Smackdown @ Pittsburgh. I thought for sure that Angle was jobbing the belt here because of the injury. Instead they pull the switch with Eric, Angle wins in 5 seconds, and I'm sitting there stunned trying to figure out how the hell Angle can perform at Mania. Best Match: Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit Angle's best match ever, and one of the best finishes to a WWE Title Match in years (usually there is interference or cheating of some kind). Breakout Star(s): Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin They didn't get much hype, but they fulfilled their roles perfectly and are the most polished of the recent callups. Best Comeback: Kurt Angle As if there was any doubt. Most Heated Rivalry: Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar Most Inspirational: Kurt Angle After what he did at Mania, he should be an inspiration to us all. Most Hated: Vince McMahon The main target for our anger these days. Best Executive Decision: Putting Rey/Matt for the CW Title in the main event slot. It did more to put both guys over than anything else they could have done. Now only if they built on it.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted July 19, 2003 Most Shocking Moment: Necrophilia IIRC, that was towards the end of 2002 when Kane was feuding with HHH. I'm sorry. I haven't watched regularly since 2001 so my timeline of things is just a big jumble.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted July 19, 2003 Raw Most Outstanding Performer: The Rock Most Shocking Moment: Matt Hardy defeats Rey Jr. at WM 19 Biggest Upset: Shawn Michaels defeating Chris Jericho at WM 19 Best Match: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels, WM 19 Breakout Star: Christian Best Comeback: The Rock Most Heated Rivalry: Ric Flair vs. Triple H (For the week or so that it lasted, it was put together very well and people actually thought Ric Flair might win) Most Inspirational: Chris Jericho (Basically how he's remained bulletproof to losses and/or squashes) Most Hated: Bill Goldberg Best Executive Decision: Booking The Rock to appear on Raw Smackdown Most Outstanding Performer: Kurt Angle Most Shocking Moment: "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's surprise run-in at WM 19 Biggest Upset: John Cena defeats Chris Benoit with no cheating/interference Best Match: Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit (RR) Breakout Star(s): John Cena (He has been on a roll despite not having a great win/loss record. Is getting more and more over each week) Best Comeback: Kurt Angle Most Heated Rivalry: Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar Most Inspirational: Kurt Angle Most Hated: Vince McMahon (The guy's gone senile and Smackdown is paying for it) Best Executive Decision: Deciding NOT to give Billy Gunn the U.S. Championship, and thus going with Guerrero/Benoit in the finals
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2003 Raw: Most Outstanding Performer - Chris Jericho Most Shocking Moment - Shawn Michaels lasts two minutes in the Rumble. Biggest Upset - Hurricane d. Rock Best Match - Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels Breakout Star - The Hurricane (Even if WWE won't admit it) Best Comeback - The Rock Most Heated Rivalry - Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels Most Inspirational - The Hurricane Most Hated - Depends? Are we talking most hated amongst the smarks? HHH. We talking best heel? Chris Jericho. Best Executive Decision - Bringing Foley back Smackdown: Most Outstanding Performer - Eddy Guerrero Most Shocking Moment - Piper returns Biggest Upset - Angle d. Brock, Smackdown Best Match - Angle vs. Benoit, Rumble Breakout Star - Matt Hardy Best Comeback - Yoshihiro Tajiri. Went from doing nothing to winning the tag belts and possibly feuding with Eddy. Most Heated Rivalry - Angle vs. Benoit Most Inspirational - Los Guerreros Most Hated - Vince McMahon both senses of "Most Hated" Best Executive Decision - Rey vs. Version 1.0. The MAIN EVENT. Fuck yes.
Guest Greg Valentine Report post Posted July 21, 2003 RAW Most Outstanding Performer - Chris Jericho carried Raw on his back in the wrestling category as well as debuting the highly entertaining Highlight Reel. Definite Raw MVP so far this year. Most Shocking Moment - Storyline-wise: Kane finally unmasks. It took them so long I never thought they'd actually go through with it. But why'd he cut his hair, that ruins the whole thing for me. Real answer: Firings of Raven AND Jeff Hardy while Jonathan Coachman, Jacqueline, Mark Henry, Nathan Jones, and A-Train all still have jobs. I don't get it. Honorable Mention - They changed Christian's music for crying out loud! Why?! Biggest Upset - Christian wins the IC Title Battle Royal instead of Booker T. Best Match - Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels from WMXIX, with honorable mentions to Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy from No Way Out (I don't care, I liked it) and Triple H vs. Ric Flair from Raw. Breakout Star - Tough call, with the obvious choice being Randy Orton, but I think Christopher Nowinski, Rico, Maven, and Mark Jindrak are oozing potential and it's time for them to start getting the pushes they deserve. If protected well enough, Rodney Mack could be big too. Best Comeback - Ric Flair. I know he started wrestling again last year, but then he stopped to manage HHH and then stepped in the ring some more and proved he STILL has it. Most Heated Rivalry - Probably Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. Most Inspirational - Shawn Michaels. Most Hated - Chief Morley/Val Venis. And they make people chant Boring at Lance Storm. Best Executive Decision - Debut of the Highlight Reel. Smackdown: Most Outstanding Performer - Matt Hardy's performances weren't always the best, but they were consistently good and in doing so has elevated himself to a main eventer in my eyes and deserves Most Outstanding Performer. Eddie Guerrero is close though. (Kurt missed a good chunk of the half year so I can't give it to him. Though he would have it in the bag more than likely.) Most Shocking Moment - Tie between Kurt Angle having to drop the title to Lesnar weeks before WM due to neck problems, Kurt Angle ending up defeating Brock Lesnar in said match and going on to WM, or Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy main eventing Smackdown and getting two segments no less. Biggest Upset - Kurt Angle beats Brock Lesnar from SD a few weeks before WMXIX, with a little help from Eric Angle. I know I didn't see that coming. Best Match - Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle from RR is MOTY so far, much less SD MOTY, with Brock vs. Angle from WMXIX a close second and Eddie/Tajiri vs. Team Angle (the first of the three) a distant third. Breakout Star(s) - Another tough choice with multiple obvious choices like John Cena, Matt Hardy, and The World's Greatest Tag Team. While Ultimo Dragon could be the next Rey, I don't see them booking him in the right manner. Same with Jamie Noble, as we'll end up whining about him like we whine about Benoit in the years to come. Best Comeback - Can't pick Kurt Angle yet, maybe for best comeback of the whole year. But if not him, then who? I'll go with Rey Mysterio. Most Heated Rivalry - Hmmm, have to go with Brock vs. Angle here. Brock vs. Cena would have won if they had followed up Cena's awesome promos after he returned from his "injury". But they didn't so it didn't. Most Inspirational - Kurt Angle. Most Hated - A-Train. Best Executive Decision - Brock vs. Angle made the Main Event of WMXIX rather than Hogan vs. McMahon.
