Eddie getting over huge?

Recommended Posts

Guest The Mighty Damaramu

You know...could Eddie be becoming one of those wrestlers that the WWE wasn't planning on pushing but he just got so over that they are forced to push him?

Because if Eddie keeps going at the pace he's going at he's going to get over huge.

The fans were chanting his name during his "heel turn" promo and then they were chanting for him during his match with Billy Gunn. Even when Billy was going for the fameasser the fans were rallying behind Eddie to fight back.

I think that it's the fact that they got this "cheat to win" stuff over so big. I mean for a while there it was cool to be a "badass" and act heelish. But Eddie's a different heel. He's not a badass shitkicker(though he could be) he goes out there and does whatever it takes to win and comes up with new and innovative ways to cheat, lie, and steal. And the fans are getting behind it. Especially his ploy with the chair against Billy Gunn last night. I think it's the fact that he's just being damn smart and outsmarting everyone that's getting the fans behind him. That and the fact that he's damn funny.

Eddie could be over huge, but it's that height that does him in. I'm not a hoss-lover or anything, but Eddie is about 5'9. Vince don't like that and thus Eddie will never escape the midcard.

I'm sad to say that cause Eddie is my all time favorite heel. He's done wonders with everyone around the globe. But his size will always do him in.

Hopefully your right, as Eddie is one of the best workers in the world. I just hope he gets the kind of push he deserves in winning the US title. Between him and Benoit, they could have some awesome us title matches......

Did anyone else see the look on Gunn's face when he heard the "Eddie" chants? Priceless.

I dunno.....Vince may be forced to push him when the fans chant his name against everybody. I mean Vince thought Gunn was the greatest thing since sliced bread and the fans made there choice between him and Eddie. Not even Torrie could save Gunn.

I love how the WWE pushes his character as a cheating babyface, then has him cheat to win because he became a heel and expects him to get a heel reaction.

oh wait, expects him to get a heel reaction against BILLY WE ALL HATE YOU GUNN.

It's good to see. The WWE is in denial, they've created most of their own problems and are in essence fighting themselves by pushing useless carbon lumps like Billy Gunn and refusing to push workers like Eddie, Benoit, Goldust and Booker who have all gotten over through actual wrestling.

A wrestler that get cheered no matter who he is wrestling....gets cheered more than the top face...yet gets buried and shoved into "unlikely" tag team...where did I hear that one before?

You know, I used ot HATE Benoit and Gurrerro and Angle. This was back when I was a mark, and I cheered the good guys and booed the bad guys. It took a face turn on each of the guys, and some smartening up, for me to truly realise how great they are. And I hope Eddie get pushed to the moon.

Or even a feud w/ Rey Rey over the cruiserweight belts. They did it before, they can do it again. And it will rock

IF the WWE do give Eddie the big push that "they have to" I should be seeing him battling for the WWE Title sometime after SummerSlam then.

Till then, I won't believe the WWE will push him. Even though he is super over.

Not to mention the large Latino Demographic the WWE has (and could have).

The best thing about all this is, he looks like he is growing his hair out!

MULLET!MULLET!MULLET!

Eddy G is probably the best wrestler around right now,WWE or otherwise.

Rick Rudo is right again, of course.

I know MANY hispanic people (mostly extended cousins and other family members) who like Eddie Guerrero, but don't like him THAT much. He could be huge.

Anything to do with the over-the-top stereotypical Cheech voice?

Nope...JUST the fact that he's hispanic and is a good wrestler. Oh, they also mark bigtime for the occasional Spanglish.

My uncle cheered John Ruiz when he fought Holyfield based on race alone!

Damn....I'm kind of excited for Eddie. He spent so long middling around doing nothing and getting lukewarm reactions b/c he was getting a suck-ass "push". Now he's actually getting over...I just hope they don't screw it up.

The crowd going NUTS when Eddie C2W against Team Angle is what really did it. The saw Eddie's godliness and they knew it was good.

Eddie SO needs a shirt that says in small lettering

"If you're close enough to read this, then I'm about to hit you over the head with a chair.

Cheat to Win

Eddie Guerrero "

I think it's a thing where the fans realize Gunn is inadeqaute as fuck in the ring. Gunn got booed against Cena, even w/Torrie, two weeks ago. It was also the same night Eddie was getting massive pops when I was there. Even during the heel turn people cheered him, so the fans probably don't care if he's heel or face, they want to see him get pushed.

Eddie is actually 5'6'' but that's beside the point. He is over huge, and if WWE continues to push him and give him high-profile feuds, a Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero match for the WWE title at Survivor Series -- in Texas -- wouldn't seem too far fetched.

When Chavo gets back, am I the only one who would mark out for a Chavo-Eddie feud based on who's the most rudo?

Eddie has that HBK/Bret style agvantage right now, in that barely ANYTHING else has taken with the fans. He gets over on his own, has paid dues, & in a twist, he attracts a MAJOR demographic that they want to tap into.& an all Latino feud with the likes of Chavo or Carly Colon (providing he's able to get over or work) would draw, not to mention get lots of people over in the process. The only thing that could fuck that up is Chavo being booked as the Frito Bandito.

You know it's funny, everybody says that Benoit lacks the charisma to be a World Champion, but they can't possibly argue that Eddy lacks that charisma. I think, more than anything that proves that it's all about the size. I mean Eddy is the man right now, and if Vince would just use him the same way he used HBK, things would be just peachy.

Hmmm...Eddy used as Shawn Michaels...

Benoit used as Bret Hart minus screw job...

Iron Man Match...Benoit vs. Eddy?

As long as WWE didn't make it an hour long chinlockfest and stalling(remember the Angle/Benoit Ultimate Submission match at Backlash 2001 that was given a lot of time?).
