Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted July 21, 2003 Oh, The job was not finished in Afganistan. It isn't all nice and happy there. It is still all fucked up to hell in that country, but it just isn't in the news anymore because of the current assignment in Iraq. As far as the politics go. Lobbyists and corporations pretty much run the country now, I know it is a cynical approach to take, but it is pretty true IMO. The biggest problem with getting a 3rd party elected is the fact that american people are lazy when it comes to politics. Most people want to turn on the daily news and get told what to think. They want to be reassured. They don't want to feel they have to do any research, or second guess what they see on the tv. I also hate how dems and repubs keep talking about how they are running as "outsiders to washington" bwahaha what a line of bullshit. They are career politicians, so how on earth are they to be considered OUTSIDERS? Argh.

Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted July 22, 2003 Most likely, if people really knew who they were voting for things would be different.
