And I thought .com was on it's way out...

I knew from the second I read the topic that this HAD to be be one of the crazy, meat-is-murder vegans... ::shakes his head::

I'll make sure to take an extra big bite of steak in her name this weekend, and let the blood drip from my chin while I do it.

The-vegan-formerly-known-as Karin Robertson changed her name to the same as that of a vegetarian information website to encourage meat-eaters to become vegetarians

Hmm...That fucking LOON is a vegan. I wanna be just like that!

Now a dedicated 20-something PETA staff member, formerly known as Karin Robertson, has decided to up her carrot power by legally changing her name to GoVeg.com.

And these rather extreme, oddball tactics are supposed to influence me how?

The only thing that bothers me is if she sticks with this, her name pretty much guarantees that she will marry and fornicate with a man that will be as obsessed with veganism as she is. Think of their future children, and fear for their future...

"23-year-old GoVeg.com, a Youth Project Specialist for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, says her new name is a great conversation starter."

I bet it is. The conversations probably start out with the other person saying "Are you a total nut job, or do you just play one while dumping buckets of blood on rich Jews that wear fur coats?"

On a related note, I have changed my name to ChicksWithDicks.com.

It's a great conversation starter...

...and another instance of I really don't believe it.

But I wouldn't be surprised.

I have a question, and am not passing judgment in any way.

Why are you a vegetarian? Religious convictions? Don't like the taste? Feel sorry for the critters? A mixture?

I just find the lifestyle to be completely alien, and couldn't (wouldn't) do it in a million years. Hence, I think it's interesting.

Health reasons.

More PETA crap. These guys are truly insane. BTW, I remember a few years ago Activision offered a $10,000 scholarship to the parents who were willing to legally change the name of thier kid to "Turok" Morons.

Isn't it healthier to have a more balanced meal plan. I understand eating mainly veggies, but the vegetarians I know eventually had to quit the lifestyle because the lack of meat really did a number on their immune systems and thinned their blood enough over time that any cuts or bruises wouldn't heal properly.

I think we had a thread about that on here when it happened.

Not necessarily. It depends on the person. Some people cannot digest animal flesh properly. Some people are allergic. The reasons can go on and on. My doctor and nutritionist say I'm perfectly healthy on a vegetarian diet. The "most people" who have to quit the lifestyle usually are the ones who don't do it properly and don't do enough research before diving in headfirst.

Okay. Just curious. You obviously know more about it than I do.

Possibly.

You get lots of fanatical people who just jump right into it without any research or knowledge of how to eat correctly when on this kind of diet.. and they seriously fuck themselves up.

I tried going veg for a while but found that since I do a LOT of exercise that beans weren't giving me much protein at all and I can't stand fish. So I had to quit...b4 radically changing your diet you really should talk to your family care physician or (if you REALLY want to change it radically) talk to a nutritionist.
