Best ENTRANCES in wrestling

While looking at the "Best Music" thread I got to thinking, a good entrance song doesn't necessarily make for a good entrance as many can attest to. So my question, your favorite entrances of all time. A few of mine...

Shane Helms: "Verteabreaker"

There was a point near the death of WCW when they could seemingly do no wrong, and the repackaging of "Sugar" Shane Helms was one of the greatest parts of the dying days of WCW. With a kickass rap song called "Verteabreaker" blaring, helms would dance behind a white screen with a few girls beside him as the silouhettes were the only thing seen by the live crowd. The screen would drop and Helms would dance his way to the ring. Just an awesome entrance.

Tazz:

With great, ominous music playing, the arena would turn orange, a huge "13" would flash across the screen and smoke would fill the entire building. THAT was a great entrance.

Christian:

At one point, most agreed Christian had the best entrance in wrestling with his old theme music and a huge shower of sparks that fell from the rafters when the lyrics "at last your own your own" hit. If WWE was serious about Christian they'd write Kevin Nash out of the pyro budget and give him back the entrance that made him stand out.

Evolution: The arena glows bright gold, kick ass music plays and images of the faction with women and booze are shown. It's really perfect given their characters.

DX: With arguably the greatest music of the modern era, the arena turns green as the faction comes off and ignites "x" shaped explosions with their crotch chops.

The Great Muta: (NWA '89) In an era where no one really had distinct entrances, Muta's was. Light smoke would creep through the arena as dramatic, almost creepy music built to an ominous climax. Muta, in mask would walk menacingly down the aisle as Gary Capetta shouted "From the land of the Rising Sun, The Pearl of the Orient....The Greeeeeat MUTA". Muta would quickly slide in the ring and just as the music hit climax, he would tear off his mask and blow colored mist in to the air. Just a great, great entrance.

Although it's getting a bit old and stale now I'd still say Jericho's, Great video, Great pyros, Great music and great movements by the man himself, what more could one ask for?

We already have a 2 page thread on this very topic on the List and Polls board.

Best SINGULAR enterance: Maybe it was the Angle but Bret's Chilling enterance at WMX for the Opener...

Honorable Mention: WM13 with Hart stepping over the Broken Glass...

Best Overall Enterance: Hate to say it...

THE GAME. An amazingly chorographed enterance...

Nash's is quite elaborate for a worthless nobody.

I've always liked Jerichos, especially when he debuted.

When Edge and Christian used to come through the crowd, I liked that too.

Oh, and the Brood. What a kickass entrance.

OK, my turn

"Sugar" Shane Helms - Hell yes, very cool entrance. The Sugar Babies were a very cool addition, i think there was at least 4 or 5 of them during his entrance. It was wierd when Helms danced to the ring wearing ring gear instead of cargo pants. The pants gave him that Hardy Boys/3 Count look which worked for him being one of the Omegas.

Shawn Michaels - I like the music and the dancing. I thought for a little bit that they were gonna throw confetti in the mix. (refer to summerslam 2002, survivor series 2002, WMXIX) and does anyone else slap hands with the fans anymore?

Sandman & Tommy Dreamer - ECW, No pyro, no titantron, no lighting effects. while they were teaming up against Sabu & RVD, they had metallica, beer and a hot chick, Beulah.

I guess that's enough for now.

Thanks for reading.

Though I've only seen it once, Ultimo Dragon's WWE entrance is fucking badass.

Triple H has an incredible entrance, and as much as everyone pokes fun at the water spit, IT WORKS.

Old-School Undertaker had the best entrance in wrestling with the gong, the dimmed lights and everyone with lighters.

Hogan's entrance is always awesome.

I agree, I do like Ultimo Dragon's entrance/pyro. Especially the pyro.

Yup. My mom marks for that.

Where we were sitting at WM, we couldn't see wrestlers on the floor outside the ring, so when I saw the water bottle randomly chucking off into the audience, I informed her that her favorite moment was about to come.

"Think there'll be a spit take here in a minute."

"OH MY GOD LET ME SEE LET ME SEE"

Rock's extended No Way Out entrance did it for me..................

I loved the 53 second clip of the helicopter flying over LA with a symphonic tune playing lightly. Then, that slowed down version of Rock's music hit, with the whole new "If ya smell," and "Look at the tongue, look at the tongue." Rocks mannerisms of disgust for the crowd just topped it off. I thought they should have done the extended version for every PPV. WMXIX would have been great for it.

Bret's Chilling enterance at WMX for the Opener...

I see this get mentioned a lot. Why? I just saw his entrance, seems his normal entrance to me.

Anyway,

My picks are:

Stone Cold - when he has the glass cover shatter right before he comes out (SummerSlam 1998)

Undertaker's WM 14 entrance.

DX

Angle

Lesnar - yeah, the ring explosion grew on me

Chris Jericho

Kane

Dudley Boyz

Edit: The Rock's NWO 2003 Entrance and Hogan's July 4th Entrance from last year.

I see this get mentioned a lot. Why? I just saw his entrance, seems his normal entrance to me.

Two Reasons:

1. The camera work is unusually cinematic for 1994, and it really does a good job of framing Bret in that shot.

2. Bret's stoic face, as he is totally focused on Owen and not really concentrating on anything else. You really get the impression that this is a fight he doesn't want.

The only entrerance in wrestling that really gets me excited is XXX's in TNA.

The music is so cool (unlike most of TNA's music) and the lights are cool and when all three of them are there it's awesome seeing Skipper and Low Ki on opposite turnbuckles while Daniels stands in the middle.

Of course half of it is the fact that I know the enterance of those guys means I'm going to see a kick ass match...but still.

i agree that for WMX the camerawork was cinematic, see Luger's entrance against Yokozuna too see that, that was a cool zoom-in there...

I gotta give props to "Spyder" Nate Webb from IWA Mid-South. Starts with a Simpsons song/soundbyte, then Nelson Muntz's laugh, followed by Wheatus's "Teenage Dirtbag". Once the first chorus begins, Nate (picture a skinny, pale white guy who looks like he listens to thrash all day) comes out dancing and jiving, all over the IWA building (which isn't exactly MSG), and doesn't stop until the song finishes. Sometimes he lip-synches, sometimes he dances on the tall announcers' perch formerly known as "The Spyder's Nest", but it still rules every time out.

Current --- Evolution

Past --- Kinda drawing a blank here, but I've always like Randy Savage's entrance at WrestleMania V. The P&C music blaring, the security, the belt around his waist, his intensity, the long walk down the steps, and Jesse's adulation have me marking out for it to this day. He looked like a desperate man who knew he was walking into a fight that no one thought he had a prayer to win. Plus, there was no one accompaning him which I liked. It was nice to see the spotlight on just him for once.

I loved the WM 4/5 entrance way/staircase.

If you want stoic, Fedor Emelianenkos entrance at Pride 25 is for you (Prides big entrances/sets are 10x's better than the WWE's.)

Shawn's entrances are always great because it's just him being him.

My favorite examples:

Shawn walking down the ramp on RAW while doing crotch chops and saying "fuck it" to everyone.

Shawn doing the Wolfpac hand-signal to the camera on the first hour of RAW, then on the second hour of Nitro, Nash turns to the camera, gives the wolfpac sign and says "RIGHT BACK AT YA HBK!"

Goldust, Mysterio, Steiner, and Kane all have cool entrances. The WWE version of the nWo entrance was cool, as well, the way they 'took over' the screen.

Also, I always marked for the flaming 'JJ' when Jarrett would enter, especially when he was on a horse.

Despite the impending crap it signifies, I do love HHH's entrance. It's pretty intense live, the green strobe and blaring Motorhead/Drowning Pool in a 65,000 person strong stadium was mad

Kanyon had a killer entrance in 2001 for like a 2 or 3 week period where he'd pop out from under the stage area and his music ruled.
