It seems that just about everyone I've ever talked to about these movies love them. If not all of them, at least one of them. Myself, I love them all. I just find them all to be balls-out fun, and really find the story of the films as well as Bruce Campbell and his life very interesting. So, on to the two questions...

1) Do any of you not like any of the films?

2) As can be found in the poll, which is your favorite out of the three?

...I didn't even think it was possible to both be cool and not like any of them, heh.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

1. I don't trust anyone who's seen the Evil Dead series and doesn't like them all.

2. Evil Dead 2 is easily my favorite.

Personally, I like all three Evil Dead movies. My favorite of the three is AOD. It's not too serious, has great one-liners, and is a fun movie. Favorite lines from AOD:

"Shop smart. Shop S-Mart."

"You ain't leading but two things right now: Jack and shit. And Jack just left town."

"Good, bad...I'm the guy with the gun."

The only problem that I have with the Evil Dead movies is trying to figure out which edition of the DVD to get for each movie.

The Evil Dead --- The Evil Dead: Book of the Dead

Evil Dead II --- Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn (The tin version or not, they are the same)

Army of Darkness --- Bruce Campbell vs Army of Darkness: Boomstick Edition

I love Evil Dead 2.

Evil Dead 1 is ok.

Army of Darkness was a waste of time.

Evil Dead 1 is an OK splatter flick, but nothing too special.

Evil Dead 2 is awesome, a great parody and I love Ash's character in it.

AoD is good, but could have used a bit more splatter and the end fight against the skeleton army is overrated. The ending is way too predictable as well.

i love them all! each one has it's own charm

ED - great straight horro

ED 2 - funny and has a special feel around it

AOD - really funny and kind of has a epic feel to close the series

my favorite line of AOD is when Ash says:

''...shop smart, shop S-Mart...YOU GOT THAT?!?!?!?!''

I picked AOD, but it really depends on what kind of mood I'm in. Later it could just as easily be ED 2 or Evil Dead.

Demon Sheila: "You found me beautiful once."

Ash : "Honey, you got real ugly"

1) Love 'em all. The best "underground" horror film series, nay, the best OVERALL horror film series that we might ever see. And why? Because Raimi is a great director, and the cast WANTED to make a great movie.

2) The original, The Evil Dead, is my favorite. It just has this charm of ultra low-budgetness that appeals to me, especially since I see it as a "kids, now go out and make your own horror films" kind of movie.

Gotta go with II, it's insane and I love it. The video cover (skull looking at you) was great, too bad it's not on the dvd, at least not on the best edition.

I don't have it, so I don't know for sure, but someone told me that the ED Book of the Dead book smells pretty ripe

i read that too in a lot of reviews of the DVD, but mine never smelled bad or anything, it just smells like rubber if you have it really close to your face....otherwise it's all good

Thanks, DH and eiker. I was actually half-joking, but you two helped. As a thank you, here's an Evil Dead quiz that I found:

Which Evil Dead character are you?

I got Ash.

You are Scotty. You are tough and assertive with a sense of humor that can all too easily turn mean. The consumate guy, you're not sentimental or overly romantic, but your boyish charisma does land you the occasional friend and/or bed-buddy. In a pinch you are willing to make tough decisions and stick with them, even if you are sort of motivated by self interest. Though you seem like certain hero material, you're actually doomed to be ripped up by demonically possesed trees and turned into a soulless agent of an ageless and nameless evil. Oh well... at least you got to see Shelly's tits.

The questions are a little dumber then on most of these "what are you" deals

You are Ash. This is probably the result you were hoping for, wasn't it? You are very sweet and sensitive, but almost useless in a tight squeeze. You tend to get pinned under bookshelves and allow sentimentality to get in the way of doing the right thing. I mean, honestly - she's possesed by a demon! Cut her the hell up already! Though your formative years set you up to be sort of a pansy the seeds of greatness are in you and eventually you'll get a clue and turn into the reluctantly heroic jerk we all know and love. Groovy...

groovy :headbang: .....

You are Shelly. Your scathing sarcasm and promiscuity endears you to some, but annoys the hell out of others. You couldn't care less, though. You are an incorrigible smart-ass and love messing with people's heads. Though initially calm and together, when the going gets really weird you tend to crack, eventually leaving your significant other no choice but to dismember you with an axe. Yeah, it sucks, but as the first floozy to get voluntarily naked in a horror film you have no one to blame but yourself.

Everything but the first and last sentence I wholeheartedly agree with.

I picked AoD, but that's probably just because I haven't seen EDII enough. I remember going to see AoD in the theater having no previous knowledge of the Evil Dead series (I didn't even know AoD was part of a series), and I laughed so fucking hard in certain parts that I was having trouble breathing. Just a great, great movie.

I usually don't like what's popular around here. With that said, I've never seen any of the movies.
