My Dad goes and is constantly bringing me home old WWF hasbro figures. I tell him I stopped collecting toys a long time ago but, you know. Too bad they ain't in their packaging, then it'd be a different story.

What? The spelling mistake?

Double entrade (sp) on the word packaging

They are missing their package and if they had the right package they'd be much, much different

Probably just a middle school yahoo who gets his jollys whenever someone says "extend" or something

"Heh heh, he just said extend"

All of the flea markets around me are WAY too expensive. I was expecting some good, cheap deals with some of the wrestling tapes that they had, but they're asking $25 for something that I can order offline for 10 bucks including shipping.

I was hoping for a larger selection of toy guns too, but being able to say that I have swung a samarai sword is pretty cool.

I buy old video game cartridges...Intellivision, Colecovision, etc. People can't get rid of them fast enough, and they have no idea what some of them are worth. I found a cartridge that went for $40 at auction for like a quarter.

The only systems that I have (Sega, N64), people jack the prices up on their games.

I found Fire Pro for $30 FUCKING DOLLARS AT A FLEA MARKET.

I was at flea market called "Websters" down in Florida (just outside Hudson) and was at a dealer selling DVDs and I was overhearing him trying to explain several times to this guy why DVDs were better than VHS but the guy was a bit slow on the uptake, and this was a young guy as well. I mean it got even down to "And you don't need to rewind it" which I'm sure confused the guy the dealer was talking to

Rage In The Cage for Sega CD with case - $3

Some lady gave me 15 NES games for $5 (good ones too)

KOTR 1993 VHS still sealed - $5

Some lady's kids were playing with Hasbro WWF figures, and she was selling some old crappy ones for 25 cents, so when she wasn't looking I took her kid's LOD and Demolition figures, put them in the 25 cent pile and got away from there as quick as possible :P

A few Batman: TAS videos that were released by Columbia House for $1 a piece

Wrestlemania 1, 4, 5, 9 masters for $3 a piece

LOTS more

Dan Marino rookie card for $2.50.

It's off-center (and therefore not "mint"), but I'd imagine it's worth a lot more than $2.50

Choken, since you're from the area, do you go to Trader's World?...

Sometimes the opposite can happen though

This wasn't a flea market issue, but same sort of deal, a card show for an example of how the opposite can happen, a kid I kmow bought some 1987 Topps cards which were made during the mass-production era of sports cards (i.e. most of the star cards from about 85-92 can be found at bargain basement vaule simply because there were just a high quanity made of each card) and was told by the dealer that they were very high priced cards and he was getting them "under value" now these were all non-rookie cards which makes it even worse (Clemens, Bonds, a 1990 Griffey, ect) because its only the RCs from that era that are worth anything

Yeah 2.50 for a Marino rookie? Betcha the person didn't have a clue who Marino was and was pricing based on a book and just got the card numbers mixed up (i.e. the next card in sequence is worth 2.50)

Sounds like that famous card shop controversy with the Nolan Ryan rookie card for 10.00 or something.

Case no one knows, about 15 or so years ago Ryan's rookie card hit the 1,000 mark or close to it (this was by the time Ryan was a Ranger and was really exploding in the mainstream pop culture) and in some shop (I have forgoten where the store was) the clerk had no knowledge of sports and simply put the wrong price on the card, grossly undervaulating it (may not have been 10.00, but it was less than 20 I know that) and a kid comes in (probably between 8-12 or something) sees the card, inquires if thats the right price to which the clerk says "Yeah I guess" (obviously showing that he didn't know Nolan Ryan from Jerry Koosman (the other guy on that card) ) and the kid bought it at sticker price!

The funny part of that story was that the card couldn't be returned because later that night the kid had traded it for like a couple of Tom Seaver rookies and other high priced 1960's cards

It was at least 10 years ago, so Marino was still active, but it's still a great deal/steal. I'm a huge Dolphins and Marino fan, so that made it even more special. I can't see myself ever getting rid of it.

Al the flea markets I've went to just sell pirated games and real cartridges at ridiculous prices. The only deal I've seen was my brother getting some sealed Ranma 1/2 tapes for 10 bucks.

The flea markets make me feel good cause I realize their are people out there uglier than me. Hell at the flea market I go to I could win a best looking contest and I'm pretty damn ugly.

The only good deal I got at a flea market was ammo for my rifle (20 bullets for 5 bucks).

I go to flea market and mainly laugh at all the cheap knock-offs in between looking around at random lots. The last thing I can remember buying is mechanic's jumpsuit for about 7 bucks.

One time, I had fun mocking at this one guy who was attempting to sell his riced-up Honda Civic with an ugly body kit. I told him upfront "Your Civic is piece of shit...but I'll give you ten bucks for the Dreamcast in the back." For those of you that don't know, I'm fairly biased against heavily modified street cars especially when it comes to Civics (which has been my car since getting my license). Anyway, the guy was obviously pissed and told me to leave. It kind of upset me because I actually wanted the Dreamcast.

All in all my local flea market is a letdown because aside from the scores of knockoff clothes and toys, all they seemingly have are CDs for Tejano bands, parts for rice-mobiles, and cell phone accessories...and this one guy selling DirecTV equipment. Like my brother said, "Who the hell trusts a guy selling satellite dishes in a flea market?"

When I was 12, I sold off a bunch of my toys at the local flea market. I think I made close to $100.

My Dad bought an Eric Clapton tape for $3, and when he put it on side b, the first 5 mins or so was some spanish music, and then it just cuts into the middle of a clapton song.

The produce is the best around, but since I now live closer to other veggie/fruit stands out my way, it aint worth the drive just for some produce.
