ROH...Death before Dishonor

Ring Of Honor presented the first "Death Before Dishonor" in Elizabeth, NJ for a show of surprises and of course quality matches. Around 1,200 fans filled the RexPlex to witness this historic event. This was ROH's first crowd of over 1000 and we are proud to say that this was done without a weekly TV show or even any TV commercials. ROH would like to thank all the fans in attendance for helping ROH shatter its previous attendance record set at the "First Anniversary Show" on 2/8/03.

Special K tried to ruin the show by starting a rave before the event was even set to begin. They had even gone so far as to hand out fliers to fans that the ROH show was canceled and a rave was going to happen instead. Ring announcer Stephen Dangelis came to the ring at the 7:30 start time to try to begin the show, only Special K kept raving and shoved him down. The Christopher Street Connection with Ariel then came out and said they were going to turn the rave into a disco, only they got beat down by the numerous Special K members. LOW KI then made his surprise return, causing several members of Special K to flee. Ki then destroyed Hijinx and Cloudy before defeating Deranged in a brutal, but competitive match.

Matt Stryker defeated Jimmy Rave in the first official match of the night.

Hotstuff Hernandez, Fast Eddie, Don Juan & Texas Wrestling Academy head trainer Rudy Boy Gonzalez beat the Carnage Crew of Justin Credible, Loc, Devito & Masada in a death-defying weapons match that saw multiple table breaks.

The new tag team of John Walters & Tony Mamaluke, known collectively as The Purists, defeated The Outcast Killazs of Oman Turtuga & Diablo Santiago. After the contest, Dunn & Marcos came out and told the Killazs that they were just rocked like a hurricane. Former ROH champion "The All Around Best" Xavier made his surprise return to beat up Dunn & Marcos, before saying he wanted to be in The Field Of Honor.

Tom Carter defeated Doug Williams in a great pure wrestling match.

BJ Whitmer won the four corner survival for the #1 contender's trophy by pinning Colt Cabana in show stealing match that also included Homicide and Dan Maff.

After intermission, Mikey Whipwreck, Hydro, Dixie & Angel Dust of Special K won an action-packed tag team scramble over the team of The SAT of Jose & Joel Maximo and The Backseat Boyz of Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere. The SAT accidentally caused Acid to be pinned by Mikey, but the Backseats didn't see it that way as they put down The SAT with the T-Gimmick & Dream Sequence.

Jeff Hardy won a three-way over Joey Matthews and Krazy K in a match that is getting a lot of talk on the message boards here at ROHwrestling.com.

CM Punk defeated Raven in an epic dog collar match that saw involvement by Colt Cabana and surprises of Danny Doring and Tommy Dreamer!!! We will have more details on this match soon. One thing we will note is that the hatred between Punk and Raven has escalated to mind blowing proportions after Punk poured a beer down the recovering alcoholic Raven's throat and Raven forced the straight edge Punk to drink beer. They will have one more match on 9/6 in Boston to settle this feud. It will be the first ever ROH steel cage match!!!

ROH tag team champions AJ Styles & Amazing Red defeated Jay & Mark Briscoe in another dazzling tag title match between these two duos. This was the final match and it concludes the best tag team series in ROH history.

Samoa Joe kept the ROH world title by choking out Paul London in an emotional contest that had an incredible atmosphere. It was London's last ROH match and the entire locker room emptied to watch the match from the crowd. After London recovered, the locker room filled the ring and kneeled down as London stood in the middle of them and gave a very heartfelt speech thanking everyone. The fans made ROH a special place for Paul London and the entire crowd showed London their appreciation and respect with several standing ovations. We wish you the best of luck Paul!

Ring Of Honor would like to thank everyone for making this perhaps the most successful event in its history.
