PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 Well Lucas is out for the season, and Sturrock's keeper search is 'ongoing' :S I'm probably being a bit harsh on our unplayed reserve keeper Chris Adamson, but look at him and tell me you think he looks any good. Sigh.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2006 Is it just me in this thread these days? We missed out on Paul Jones, but apparently Sturrock thinks there's a slim chance of some other guy he's looking at. I doubt it. Still, we protected our centre half, we can protect any keeper! Bring on Andy Johnson tommorow! Oh God.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 Not a bad point, apparently we should have edged it, and that buck toothed village idiot managed a fine one-on-one save to keep a clean sheet! Good lad!
deancoles 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 good 2-0 win at Scunthorpe, Cotterill and Brooker might be the forward solution, lots of 6 pointers coming up because of the way the table is, wish the League had been this bad during 02-04 when Wilson's team was at it's best. Anorak 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 3 wins and a draw since we sacked Levein. Crewe look doomed and both Millwall & Brighton can't seem to find the back of the net but we're not out of it yet by any means. I experienced the Withdean stadium for the first (and hopefully last) time last weekend which was a weird experience. Walking to your seat (I was in the Brighton end) along an athletics track yards away from a long jump pit is very strange indeed. At least I had a better view than most other Leicester fans as the rubbish away end is miles from the pitch.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 Bye bye Megson. Probably for the best, although who on earth would want the job now...
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 Dennis Wise is a diving quick free kick taking cunt. Anyways, we didn't get hammered and I reckon the bottom three are miles worse than us, think they're done. Actually kind of fancying the derby...gutted I can't go, but fuck, how good would it be to fuck up blades' season completely? Even though I'll probably have to cheer on fucking Leeds.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 Well, two clearances off the line and a penalty shout all in injury time is something to take away from the derby. We didn't lose any ground, but fucking L**ds can never win when we need em to, and could have done with Palace holding on.
Anorak 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 Crewe vs Brighton is a big game next week and I hope Stoke improve on their crappy form to beat Millwall. We have Ipswich away, a place we rarely do well at but we're managing to scrap well and still play decent football at the minute.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 1-1 at Bradford, 4 points from 2 away games will do, our Loan signing from Brighton McCammon came on in the 2nd half and got booked after 8 seconds(wouldn't have moaned had it been red) he's got a bit of pace for a 6'2 target man and at this level could do a good job. Edit: http://forums.cpfc.org/showthread/t-125316.html Even though I don't like the club(Leon Knight,Play Off Final and their ground) I can't blame Brighton for flogging him, he had a go at the Manager,Fans and team mates. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 We've won away! What do you think of Nigel Clough apparently being targetted by Derby and Forest?
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 Southampton on sat, and the fact we only have like 10 players due to our Saints loanees being ineligible is evidence that using the club about 3 places above you in the league as a feeder club is bad practice.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 You'd still be better than Millwall,Brighton and Crewe though, surprised I haven't asked yet but how's Coughlan been? Him deciding to join you and Lita leaving 2 days later was when I started thinking we could struggle.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Coughlan's been excellent, a good captain and 7 goals from centre back this season, one of our most important players for sure.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2006 We've won away! What do you think of Nigel Clough apparently being targetted by Derby and Forest? Accrington Stanley, Halifax, Hereford, Stevenage, Morecambe, York, Grays Athletic, Exeter and Woking are all above Burton in the Conference. Would you be happy if any of their managers was appointed for you? I fucking wouldn't if Forest appointed one. All Nigel has going for him is his last name, the fact he's a Forest fan and a former awesome player. His team's rubbish and according to mates of mine who support York and Exeter they're just a bunch of thugs who whack it forward to two big lads up front. No thanks. WE WON SEVEN - ONE!!!!! Megson must just have lost the plot. The opinion for ages has been the players are actually good enough but are being let down by the manager, and today I think that's pretty much been proven. We played 4-4-2, passed the ball, and were just far far too good for Swindon, who'd won four out of their last five games. Play-Offs are still a possiblity.... deancoles 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 He might not be popular but Ian Holloway wouldn't be bad, would get forest out the league as long as you don't sell the star strikers, only problem would be paying QPR compensation. Thanks for the 7-1, the Swindle should forget that we lost 7-1 at Swansea(who've turned shit since the posioned dwarf signed) We Beat Bournemouth 3-1, McCammon got one and Brooker got 2, could be a good partnership next year if Mc stays on, we're now 13th and finishing 9th should be the target now. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Holloway is a good candidate, hard to think of many other decent free agents at the moment, or anyone ditching their club at this stage in the season.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 I'd have Holloway in an instant, however... I'm not really how how to take this, but it's been reported in Notts that, apparantly, Roy Keane has had his third interview for the job today. Hmmm... I'm sure it's bollocks, but some people on various forums who get transfer news a few days before it's announced have 'confirmed' it. I'm not convinced with us going for another inexperienced manager though after the mess Platt make of the job.
k thx 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 Pompey are fucked, BTW. However, I've just moved to Bristol, so I'm going to be a glory hunter and start rooting for City. For Forrest, I think that Clough Jr would be a better manager than Keane. I don't get the thinking that Keane is going to be a top manager. But it could draw in some players, I suppose.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 I can see players like Keane becoming good managers because their game was based on a perfect understanding of fundamentals, rather than a gift that can't be taught to others. Of course, that's a very general point. I actually think Clough's a bigger risk, in some ways, but Holloway's got to be the best option from those we've mentioned.
k thx 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Holloway seems like the sort of manage players want to do well for because they like him, rather than him actually motivating them. He'll do well at League 1 level, but not above.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 Bet you wish you'd have offered Psycho the job while he was out of management.. You know, it's amazing, I hate Forest with such a burning passion, but i'm a big fan of City under Pearce. Who'd have thunk it?
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 I love Pearce. Mental and effective. I want to wait a while before he's in the picture for England though. Cardiff are going to obliterate us on saturday. Sigh.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 More injuries! Barry Corr's out for the season, fortunately we have some other strikers now, but without Richard Wood it appears we're gonna ship goals anyway, and I think Cardiff are better than us all over the pitch. Oh lord I really would like to stay in this division.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 No disrespect to Derby but I have to say I could never work for that club in and capacity. And I mean never. People might say I'm being rediculous but that's just the way it is. Even if I was desperate and they were the only club around, I couldn't do it. I'd rather go on the dole and take my chances. deancoles 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 We're currently the most entertaining side in the league with 29 matches since a 0-0, With Forest on Sat I can see the run continuing. Edit: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...vil/4768096.stm Had he stayed away from the Fags and Drink he'd have been in a top 6 champ side.
