King Cucaracha Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 I hope Milan score early, otherwise Liverpool are gonna put me to sleep again tonight. Having the 5th best team in England as European Champions would irk me as well. And seeing as Milan dumped us out, it'd be better to lose to the champs than the runners-up. I say Milan 2-0 if they score early, or on penalties if they don't.
King Cucaracha Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Well, that was quick. Should have done better with that one, they had three around Maldini at least.
TheFranchise Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Well, that was quick. Should have done better with that one, they had three around Maldini at least. Milan's manager said they'd score in 3 minutes yesterday too.
TheFranchise Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Two defences cancelling each other out, maybe the odd goal? Yeah, right!
Mystery Eskimo Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Christ. What the hell just happened?! Awesome stuff.
King Cucaracha Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Bah. Still not as good as Sheringham/Solskjaer. What a surprise it was Gerrard who was responsible, huh? They're by no means a great Liverpool team, but he's as good as some of the Liverpool legends, that's for sure.
TheFranchise Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 He could be better than them all. Dalglish, Souness, you name it. Don't look lightly on Gerrard just because he's currently playing. He could be there best ever.
King Cucaracha Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 As an all-round player, he's possibly as good as they've ever had, I'll give you that. The likes of Dalglish, Souness, Rush etc. didn't really have as many different roles as Gerrard did.
TheFranchise Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 I dont think Gerrard has a choice. He'd .. off the line !! He'd be better than he is now if he had the players of that era around him, he'd be able to focus more. That's why he'd be brilliant for England.
TheFranchise Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 I wonder what the half time bets were for Liverpool to win..
King Cucaracha Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Pretty high I'm guessing. No matter what happens, Liverpool as a team still aren't a team you'll look at and say 'great team' 5 years down the road. I may be bias, maybe not. But they're not on the level of United when they won it. We had a player for pretty much every position, the majority of whom were British. And it wasn't just a few players and the rest playing out of their skins for European matches. Solid in goal, decent defence, a true midfield four that you couldn't split, chop and change because it was always Giggs, Scholes, Keane and Beckham. And then Cole and Yorke up front, Ole and Sheringham as super subs. Liverpool have Gerrard and Carragher. Alonso, Garcia, Hyppia and Riise are good players. Up front and in goal though, Liverpool are still lacking.
King Cucaracha Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 That was close. I'm hoping we don't go to penalties because damn I'm tired.
TheFranchise Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 That was close. I'm hoping we don't go to penalties because damn I'm tired. Aye, I get up at 2am for work. I was hoping Liverpool would win it so I could go to bed
