Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Hey...I just brought a Monte Carlo last week off my old man. Good Car man. I now have three primary rides... 1995 Silver Mustang 1997 Blue Silverado 1998 Black Monte Carlo
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 It was a Cobra. My friend's Eclipse is a GT. Powerful but not enough for the Mustange.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 He's got it turbo'd. Thing is he's had it for less than a week and he isnt too experienced with a manuel. Especially while racing. He tried to double shift but failed horribly
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Ah...A Cobra. I intend to buy that someday...Doubt i will though. I do need a new truck... Any suggestions? I want something a little lighter then the 'Rado but not something like those little punk kids s10's... somewhere in the middle...
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 I suck when it comes to trucks. Dont know too much about them. I dont drive my Escalade that much either. But the new Escalades EXT have a 6.0-liter V-8 345hp. Caranddriver.com have an article about an Escalalde they modified to 700hp at 5200 RPMs that outbeat a corvette, Porsche 911, BMW M3, and a Ferrari 360 Modena F1
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 I want a TRUCK...not an SUV. I can't stand driving SUV's
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 If you got the EXT it would be half half.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 I suppose but I'm a Southern Raised Kid...(Though in Ohio) so TRUCKS > FANCY SUV'S...
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Why not go with another Silverado? I dont like Dodge's. Chevys are nice but I know shit about them. I am going strictly on looks and from the little experience I have.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 I'd like to Change it up ya know...I've drove since 1998 ya know...That's six years. Or I might get a Grand Prix but that's along the same lines of a Monte Carlo though... I don't like Civic's or those type of small cars...It feels like a death box.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Well I can understand that. Changing your ride after 6 years is understandable. My dad's friend has a Ford F Series. They go from $18,000s to the low $30,000s.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Uhh...I'll be hitting the Used Market then... Yeah I drove a F Series around once...It wasn't bad at all but it was lighter but bigger then the Rado..
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Buying a nice truck with not a lot of funds is hard.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 I don't see the purpose in spending $18-30,000 when I can get perfectly good Used car around $10,
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 There are people that think their cars are more important that everything else in life and if they have the money, they will spend a ridiculous amount of it to get what they want. Like myself.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Yeah...No Offense but I don't get why you people spend all that money for shit like Rims and the like... Me? Right off the factory is good enough for my ass...I'll admit I put new speakers in the truck but jesus christ it took 4 years of LOA/Metallica to force me to it. Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 We arent all the way satisfied. For the same reason weight lifters take roids, they arent all the way satisfied with themselves. I admit I do spend more money on cars they most people do but I have to drive this thing every day and if Im not happy with it then its hard to drive it. Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 But what makes you go "Oh...I'll spend 11,000 for something in essance that is meaningless...when In all likely hood...I'll wreck"?
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 This argument can go on for hours without it getting closer to it being solved than it is now. The only noticeable thing on all my cars are the rims. I dont do anything else. No crazy looking body kits you see on Civics, or 20 foot wings or anything like that. And now a days you see rims on almost all cars. Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Yeah I know...I was saying IN GENERAL...not you specifically... I watched my father put 45,000 in cars but never said a word but If I see some one put in rims I go "Was it really that neccessary"?
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 I just hate seeing hub caps. Makes the car so ugly. Then I will always put in a system. Maybe some small mods in the engine. I put most of it in the interior though. I like to show my car. When people get in and ask about it, it feels good. I do it for myself not to get approval from others. But if you look at my car from the outside you wouldnt be able to tell I put any money into it.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Cool... Hubcaps WILL make a comeback however...Oh yeah they will...
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 We got really off topic here.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 yeah any stupid things you brought for your car that in hindsight you wish you didn't? Me? That Lemon-Lime Pine Freshener
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 For me I would have to say Sparco racing seats. Those suckers were the most uncomfortable things I ever sat on. Took those babies off soon and resold them. Especially on long distance rides.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Yeah...Racing Seats aren't comfy Esp with the Six Star Strap system...
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 I skipped out on the straps. Still used my original seat belt. Those straps would have just made it look ridiculous.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 Well...Not in an Actual Race Car Mind you... No idiot would actually have that in their own car... Imagine what a bitch that would be like just to leave the Grocery Store...
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted July 27, 2003 haha. Yeah that would discourage me from fastening up everytime I got in the car. The Recaros in the Evo's are nice though. They are wider for better comfort.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 27, 2003 The bitch is...Do you *REALLY* need one to protect your crotch?
