Guest GameCop Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Triple H has suffered another hematoma to his right leg after taking a frog splash from Rob Van Dam at a RAW show in Omaha. This clearly has not helped the situation between Triple H and RVD. They already had problems stemming from the 6/30 RAW in Buffalo in which RVD potatoed Triple H after hearing that Hunter complained about Van Dam’s kicks being “too reckless”. Rob, at first, tried to ignore the situation knowing that if he addresses the issue with Hunter it would only make matters worse. But Van Dam felt that enough was enough and confronted Triple H about the comments he made, but only got denials from him and everyone else that there was a problem. credit: wrestlingobserver newsletter and rajahwwf
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 23, 2003 RVD is going to Hell...Oh wait he was already on Heat. RVD is an IDIOT! I swear he must the worst luck motherfucker around... He always manages to start Patoeing/hurting ONE Specifice wrestler for good period of time but NO ONE else...
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted July 23, 2003 When did Triple H make comments of that sort? I just have missed it. Was it publicly stated or written down or is that just "common knowledge"?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 23, 2003 More of that IWC knowledge. Once again...What WE say is the truth...ruth.
Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Something tells me we'll be seeing Kane vs. RVD at SS with Rob jobbing...
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Well, I guess this is god's way of confirming to me that RVD won't be getting a push anytime soon...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Interesting...How HHH hasn't as far as I recall Patatoed or injured anyone... and the Smark Darlings like Angle, RVD have a history of doing such
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted July 23, 2003 well i agree with triple h for once. RVD is pretty reckless in the ring
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted July 23, 2003 If RVD is lucky enough to get a top billed SS match with Kane, he's jobbing. Kane is going to steam roll through everyone until he either jobs to Goldberg or HHH. there is a posibility that Goldberg gets the Steiner treatment and is kept away from the title, meaning Kane may be the next choice, but I see all this Kane stuff as just fattening the cow for slaughtering at the hands of Goldy. Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted July 23, 2003 RVD will be the next person let go by WWE as soon as he gets squashed by Kane at SS.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Interesting...How HHH hasn't as far as I recall Patatoed or injured anyone... and the Smark Darlings like Angle, RVD have a history of doing such HHH injured Angle at Summerslam 2000, but that was a long time ago in wrestling terms. Kurt can be reckless at times and RVD is just plain bad, but you don't see Benoit or Eddy hurting too many people these days.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Interesting...How HHH hasn't as far as I recall Patatoed or injured anyone... and the Smark Darlings like Angle, RVD have a history of doing such Well, no one ever said he wasn't a safe worker, did they? I can't remember anyone saying Trips was dangerous in the ring. Well, except to himself.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 23, 2003 True...You could say "SABU" about Benoit but that was in 1994 IIRC.
Guest Loss4Words Report post Posted July 23, 2003 First of all, quit with the labels. Fuck "smark darlings". I like who I like, and I would like to think most people are more capable of independent thought than to just put themselves in some classification where they all think the same way. This is a public message board, not the Gestapo and we're not all some label of convenience who think blindly and the same way. Now that that's out of the way, having *read the article in question*, HHH was telling others backstage he had a problem with RVD and was complaining about being potatoed. And while HHH doesn't have the sloppy track record of RVD, he did give Kurt Angle a concussion at Summerslam 2000 and he did nearly break some jobber's neck back in 1996 with a sloppy pedigree. So, in short, this is not some "smark know it all" post as you claim. This is Dave Meltzer, a journalist who has been covering wrestling for 23 years, reporting on what was actually said and what happened.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I know it Meltzer and he is the Dan Rather of our world. I was just saying RVD and Angle have a history of Injuring people but are beloved here (for the most part) and we tend to over look the fact they are slightly reckless in the ring. I used "Smart Darling" because that was the little name you can use for the guys like RVD-Angle.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Good insight on the spurce. I didn't even stop to think about that. I tend to look at the HHH/Angle incident as a total accident, I mean Hunter went to jump and the table just collapsed. It has happened to others with minimal effects. I can remember Hunter Pedigeeing Mick on a table WITHOUT removing the monitors and putting a nice gash in his head, but the SS 2000 incident, IMO at least, can't really be zeroed in on Hunter, but more on just bad luck. Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Wasn't the Killer Pedigree a result of that Jobber jumping up, more then it was Hunter's fault?
Guest GameCop Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Didn't Hunter crack one of HBK's vertebrae with a lethal pedigree?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 23, 2003 ^ No. That was the Casket.
Guest JRE Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I'd imagine someone being injured from the Pedigree would be the person's fault...unless Trips reaaly pulled the guy up hard or...you know...a table collapases.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I don't mean to be a total plug for him because I'm still a mark for him, but out of 14 years in the business, Bret Hart NEVER injuried anyone. Or at least he says.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Bah, RVD can't step to HHH. He's too INTENSE~! God I loved that. I will singlehandedly bring it back.
Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Bret potatoed Lawler at SSlam 93 to avenge the overly stiff septor shot Lawler nailed him with at KOR
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Not to be mr. correcting, but Bret was a wrestler for more than 20 years including his Stampede stints before WWF.
Guest GameCop Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I admire RVD's gumption and bravery; it takes a real man to stand up to the despotic HHH. And like we've all stated before, RVD would be much better off in NWA-TNA anyway -- a promotion that suits his strengths.
Guest geniusMoment Report post Posted July 23, 2003 I don't consider getting a black eye or cutting someone "injuring them" in the wrestling sense of the words. These are just part of the trade and if you can't take a little blood take your ball and go home. Who has RVD seriously injured? The only time I can think of is when he crushed HHH's throat with the 5 star, and that was in large part due to the cage. Jerry Lynn got a concussion in a match with RVD but that was because he fell to the ground wrong.
boobshaw 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2003 To go back to RVD/HHH for a second... does no one remember RVD nearly becoming a GOD in his own right by almost taking out HHH's voice by dropping a knee in his larynx during the Elimination Chamber?
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted July 23, 2003 Are you sure? I thought he was being super stiff because of the angle at hand, not for revenge....though I have heard that before from somewhere.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2003 This is a product of the WWE style... instead of setting a standard that everyone goes by and allowing individual style to enter into a match, every wrestler in the E has been homogenized. God only knows Vince doesn;t want to return to the days when Marty Jannetty and Koko B. Ware were breaking necks with impunity... so now anytime something out of the oh-so-ordinary happens someone *coughhuntercough* bitches about X wrestler being too stiff. I'm sorry but unless its proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that RVD is doing it intentionally, Hunter should just shut up and take it like a man. In such a physical *ahem* contest, accidents are going to happen. Good for RVD for confronting HHH. And I would bet cash money that HHH just looked at the floor while RVD was in his face and muttered "I had nothing to do with that" like he did when Bret Hart's wife was bitching him out after the Montreal Screwjob.
