PROMO: In Jeopardy...

Writer's note: Yeah, so I'm going semi-out-of-character already. Shoot me, I promise this will be the only time for a long time.

Our cameras find a darkened hotel room late at night, a black-haired man in a white dress shirt and black dress pants sitting at his hotel table, in his hotel chair, making notes on a pad of paper. The television blasts Game Show Network - on this night, a 50's edition of The Price is Right is his drug of choice - but the man pays no mind, looking at his pad of paper intently.

 

"Hmm... so if I put Ben Hardy and Gus on top of the SWF-tron and made them sit there for an entire night, it'd be like Survivor... that'd be cool."

 

Nobody said that his work resulted in good ideas.

 

His eyes flash over the paper, trying to figure out what he can possibly do to top all of his other endeavors, when suddenly a cell phone rings. The Final Jeopardy theme plays out in all its midi glory, and Quiz reaches for his cell phone, turning it on and putting it to his ear.

 

"Hello?"

 

"Quiz? It's Marv and the network. How comes the Double Jeopardy experiment?"

 

"It's coming along great, Marv. I think people are really starting to buy into it."

 

"Good man! Now, when are you guys going to get a shot at the Tag titles?"

 

"Uhm... well... Mak and CIA have the shot right now... but they'll probably get their shot before Ground Zero so Mak can defend his other title..."

 

"Hey, that reminds me. Who is your partner?"

 

"Well, uh, Marv... you're not going to believe this, but..."

 

"You don't have a partner, do you?"

 

"Look, Marv, I've been looking, but..."

 

"But nothing, Quiz. Look, I want you to get a tag match for the next show... Storm?"

 

"I can't, Marv, the show's all booked."

 

"Fine. Lockdown or whatever. But I want to see you... and your partner... tagging up by Ground Zero, or not only will I bed mad, but for you the show will be over. Clear?"

 

"As day, Marv."

 

"Great. Do me proud, Q."

 

Off noise

 

Quiz puts his phone away, the television having shifted to another game show - Hollywood Squares. In no mood to write, now, Quiz looks at the television, boredly, a single thought running through his head...
