slimm44 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2003 I heard about this a while back but read about it in the paper. It is a possible Friends season 10 spoiler though. After Friend's season is over, Matt Leblanc is going to do a spinoff as Joey. He is going to move to L.A. and pickup his acting career. Basically all the input I got out of it. Anyways nobody from Friends is going to star with LeBlanc which means the fling between him and rachel obviously does not work out. I think it will be a good show however I remember the curse that fell on the Seinfeld cast. First Michael Richards, then Jason Alexander.Julia almost had a shot but still nobody cares about Ellie. Hopefully it will not happen to him.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted July 24, 2003 I think that mostly the show didn't work because of people so used to them playing one character. With this, it wouldn't be a issue. It would be a very smart move for him seeing as when this show goes off he will never work again. Courtney Cox will be second, Kudrow will be third in the "can't get a job" boat, followed by either David Schimmer or Matthew Perry(he would have been okay if it weren't for that damn servicing Sarah movie) leaving only Jennifer Aniston with a chance outside this show. And it isn't because of acting abilities because I think they all are great actors/actresses...its just that damn type-casting and the fact America loves Jennifer is what will save her. Guest JAxlMorrison Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Oh boy, the worst character and the worst actor on Friends gets his own show! Well, at least he won't be making any more movies about monkeys who play baseball........

Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 25, 2003 I think Joey is the weakest character of the bunch. Chandler and Monica (I think that's her name at least) would make for a good spinoff.
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Well, Ross and Rachel getting back together is what EVERYONE has wanted since the early seasons, so that's the logical ending to the series.

Actually Courtney Cox and Jenifer Aniston are the ones with the best Post-Friends futures. Kudrow and Perry are iffy while Schwimmer and LeBlanc are SOL post-Friends... JasonX 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Well, Ross and Rachel getting back together is what EVERYONE has wanted since the early seasons, so that's the logical ending to the series. If Ross and Racheal get together then the writers are cowardly idiots. They've done that already and had the arc end naturally (with the two having their relationship end horribly) in the first couple of seasons. The only way to truly end it is Ross and Racheal getting married and Racheal dumping Ross at the alter. Bring the stupid retred of this storyline back to the way it ended the first time around with Racheal and Ross's relationship getting fucked up and the two being forced to end their relationship again... Guest starvenger Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Well, Ross and Rachel getting back together is what EVERYONE has wanted since the early seasons, so that's the logical ending to the series. Actually everyone wanted that at the beginning, but once we got it we realized that, well, it wasn't neasrly as fun as when they were apart. Anyways, Joey's character has been developed better in the last couple of years but there's a lot left to be explored with him. Since they're continuing his character, they can pull something like they did with Frasier, as opposed to Seinfeld crew where they tried to start from scratch. Guest godthedog Report post Posted July 25, 2003 this just ain't a good idea. the whole appeal of 'friends' is the ensemble as a whole. there isn't any one character strong enough to build a show around, ESPECIALLY joey. the group dynamic works because you get them all in relatively small doses. joey only works in relation to chandler, poebe, rachel, et al. Chandler and Monica (I think that's her name at least) would make for a good spinoff. call it 'monica loves chandler', and they could sing the theme song. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 25, 2003 I totally agree GTD. It would be like giving Norm (or Woody) or Kramer their own show. They are best with others, on their own they are lacking. I call this the "Homer Simpson Syndrome", in that when Bart was the star of the show Homer was the best character, for the past 5 years or so they made Homer the central focus and it completely diluted his character and was numbing. Fraiser, on the other hand, was able to work because he wasn't necessarily a bit player, but he didn't stand-out like a Norm or a Kramer. He had enough of a base established by Cheers to warrant a spin-off and his character was open enough to build from.
