Guest godthedog Report post Posted July 28, 2003 Temple of the Dog was just Pearl Jam featuring Chris Cornell. in retrospect, yes. but at the time, it was a bunch of better-known seattle musicians paying tribute to the mother love bone guy (whose name escapes me for the moment). B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2003 Temple of the Dog was Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden along with Jeff Ament and Stone gossard of Pearl Jam. They released their only album as a tribute to Andrew Wood, the former lead inger of Mother Love Bone who died of a heroin overdose and wsa also Chris Cornell's room mate for years. Temple of the Dog is probably my favorite Cornell album. Let me clarify, it's my favorite VOCAL Cornell album. While it's not as good as say Superunknown or Louder than Love, Temple... shows Cornell's vocal prowess to the nines. He has soul, his wails are great(as always), and he just flat out SINGS. Listen to "Call Me a Dog" and you'll be blown away.
