God, Powerplay. Way to try to cover your ass. I'm sick and tired of your bullshit here, masquerading as if you know what the hell you're talking about.

While I'm not supporting what powerplay said, it's funny how people say you can't lump all 7 million Quebecois together because of a few bad experiences, but it's exactly what happens to America (and Americans) all the time. Just because of a few xenophobic assholes, so many people put the bad-mouth on the US and all US citizens.

I just dig the irony. That is all.

I thought Americans had trouble with irony? :P

Only some of us do ...

And can I comment on how strongly I'm fighting the urge to point out Alanis (Canadian) Morissette's "Ironic" didn't have any real irony at all.

It's a good thing you're strongly fighting that urge.. because it could be the stupidest thing you'll ever say in this "arguement." Could be... B-)

Honestly, the real ass holes in Canada are out west. Take it from someone who has lived in both western Canada, Ontario, and Quebec. Quebec (Montreal in particular) easily has the worst, rudest drivers in the world though.

I'm sure Canadian drivers can't be worse than many of our European and Southern Hemisphere brothers.

And I use to like the guy.

Ew.

If you're actually sending him a letter, fix your grammar and spelling. That's just atrocious.

That was just more of me thinking out loud. I wouldn't take to time to write him a letter.

It never will if he can't actually suggest a solution.

Appearantly we can't blame the media for Columbine (something I agree with) but Canadians don't shoot each other because they don't see so many shooting in the news. So does the media encourage people to kill each other or not? He doesn't say, he just provides mixed signals and complains until someone else makes a conclusion.

My guess is that the Canadians actually have better weapons training.

The job of a Documantarion is not to provide us with solutions but to present us with the facts.

As has been pointed out numerous times, Moore distorts the facts or deliberately misinterprets them in such a way that what he presents in his documentaries can hardly pass as the truth.

Continuing to argue in the alternative only makes you look ignorant.

As for Moore comparisons, I think a more accurate one would be to label Moore as the liberal version of Ann Coulter.

Yeah we have some bad drivers out here but the worst drivers I ever saw were down in Southern California when I went there for Sprink Beak in Grade 11. We almost got ran off the road a half dozen times.

The few times I've been to California it wasn't so much the drivers (although there were a bunch of crazies) but rather the endless lanes of traffic.

I can't imagine what New York City is like...

The man's clearly a God of sorts.

Wow, you just turned me atheist.

You didn't think I could leave THIS string alone, did you?

-=Mike --- very much alive in NJ --- and since I have TONS of time to kill on the job and a computer that supervisors don't think has 'net access, it might be time for a resurgence o' me.

And Canadians do have better weapons training but we also have stricter gun control laws, and I dare say we do treat each other with a bit more respect than Americans treat each other.

Wether it's because Americans are all jerks or because you're all packed into such a tiny country you sure seem awful nasty sometimes. Conversly there's alot fewer Canadians and alot more land so we're more spread out. We each have more living space and we tend to step on our neighbors toes a bit less.

Anyway...I like Micheal Moore. I find him to be humorous. I enjoyed his book to an extent and I loved Bowling For Columbine for what it was. I also enjoyed his earlier movies as well.

And the beef with Moore is that he seems to not exactly follow those little fact things.

I love the Canadians here who gripe that we stereotype them, then claim that Americans tend to be nasty. As a comedian once said, once WE nearly disintegrate because we want to speak French, THEN you can talk to us about our problems.

And CBM: I see more pricks from Quebec than in any state in the Union. Don't even go there calling us jerks when you have a whole province full of them :P.

At any rate, if you look around MikeTheSC posted tons of inaccuracies and twisted facts in his documentaries, enough so to show you that it's more of an extended propaganda video rather than a serious documentary of sorts.

bah, i don't count quebec.

as for the inaccuarcies. You can find other places that'll demonstrate how what Moore says IS the truth. The things he talks about often can be interpruted in a number of different ways I find. When I hear and anti -american state stats i cut it by half and i do the same for a pro-american. the truth is normally somewhere in the middle.

Cobain, ONE small difference --- everything I stated is backed up by little pesky things called historical FACTS. Those who wish to claim that what he is saying is the "truth" have a hard time overcoming those tiny little problems.

So, when you hear pro- or anti-American sentiments, you simply assume that ANYTHING said is at least 50% true?

-=Mike --- Canadians smell bad and are morons --- which half is true?

The only thing about Michael Moore I like is that he pisses people off that I DON'T like. Other than that he's just another political pundit. Oh, and it's equally bad to make fun of Americans as it is to make fun of Canadians (which should be obvious to ALMOST anyone). Judging an entire country based on stereotypes is just wrong, IMO.

Here's one for you all:

Everybody's an asshole, at one point or another.

So stop being so uptight when somebody call a province of people jerks.

Feel free to disagree.
