Whose his going to It..

Probably not too many people on this board ... there's more people that dislike Phish than like them, it seems. Even one of their defenders (me) isn't going to go. I'd thought about it, but the setlists on this tour haven't been exceptional, and I just can't justify doing the trek up north again.

Some friends of mine are going. They left last Saturday. Going to make a nice trip of it. I wouldn't make a trip like that for any band. Especially since it's just them playing.

first thing i thought of when reading this was:

"3. We don't care what you know or what you don't...as long as you can convey your point like a person who speaks English at a somewhat coherent and intelligent level."

This is coming from the same guy who doesn't know how to capitalize his words.

I'll have to agree that the last two shows (7/29 & 7/30) look like they're among the better shows of the tour. Up until 7/29, there wasn't a single setlist that made me say "I'm pissed that I missed that show".

I'm surprised you even dared to open your mouth, coward.

LOL- Not too sure what your problem is pal, but one who picks fights in an online posting board is the last person to use the word coward when describing someone else.

I checked out the setlists online ... both looked like pretty good shows. The first night had a weak 3rd set, but otherwise was pretty solid. And it looks like the band no-sold an audience chant for Fluffhead, which kind of pisses me off. Come on, guys, if people want to hear it, play it.

Jango, sorry I just saw your requests for the setlists now ...

08/02/03 -

Set 1: AC/DC Bag, Ya Mar > Runaway Jim, Reba*, Birds of a Feather, Meatstick**, Two Versions of Me, Vultures, Limb By Limb, Cavern

Set 2: Down With Disease > NICU -> Brother, Lawn Boy, Discern, Waves^, David Bowie

Set 3: Rock & Roll -> Seven Below -> Scents & Subtle Sounds^^ > Spread It Round, Bug

Encore: Dog Log, The Mango Song

"Set 4": The Tower Jam#

* with whistling; **Trey: "we'd like to honor that request" (referring to loud crowd chant for the song), and sung with Japanese lyrics; ^ with ambient jam; ^^ with Seven Below teases. #An all-improvised (and unannounced, though heavily rumored) set from the roof of the old air-traffic control tower, taking place about 2-3am, with special lighting by Chris Kuroda. Featured many teases, accompanied by dancers on rappel lines down the tower's sides.

08/03/03 -

Set 1: Daniel (Saw the Stone), Saw It Again, Punch You in the Eye, Army of One, Chalkdust Torture, Wilson*, Mike's Song > I Am Hydrogen > Weekapaug Groove

Set 2: Mellow Mood, Ghost** > Mist, Pebbles and Marbles, You Enjoy Myself > Chariots of Fire^, Loving Cup

Set 3: 46 Days, Julius, Lizards, Secret Smile, Run Like an Antelope^^

Encore: Good Times Bad Times#

* - Trey said something to the effect of: "Hey, Kevin, there's a post-able version of 'Wilson.' Ladies and gentlemen, the Shortest 'Wilson' Ever! I'd like to dedicated that to our archivist, Kevin Shapiro... And now: the longest 'Bittersweet Motel' ever - I'm kidding!" Then the crowd started an enormous chant for 'Fluffhead.' After conferring with the band, Trey said, "Mike says no" - and the band launched into 'Mike's Song'; ** - with massive glowstick war; ^ - Phish played the song in the background as the winners from the '100th Running of the First Annual Runaway Jim 5K' were brought up on stage and announced by Trey with photos on the video screen (the women's second-place finisher was actually Trey's neighbor "from right down the road" and the men's winner, from nearby Presque Isle, had a time of 15min for the 5k); ^^ - after the "downshift," Trey thanks the crew and the crowd; when the band returns to the song, they skip the "Rye rye rocco/Marco/Spike" lyrics section; # - with fireworks behind the stage during the close of the song

For anyone that went up to Maine, any stories? Anything really good/really bad?

I tripped balls hardcore the first day, so the first set was really a blur. Second set was great, really spacey. I used to not like Waves but now it's one of my faves just based on that live verstion. Rocking David Bowie. Set three was short but extremely well played, they're best new song is easily Scents and Subtle Sounds. Encore was amazing as you could probably imagine.

Didn't see the tower jam

Second day opened up well enough with an amazing Daniel> Saw it AGain, which is one of my favorite songs. Lot's of calls for fluffhead all day, but it wasn't to be. Second set was easily highlight of the weekend. Amazing ghost witha glowstick war you had to see to believe. P&M and YEM were rocking and a sweet Loving cup. Third set I was way to tired for and the lllllooooonnnnnnnggggggg 46 days was not what i needed, the rest of the set was decent enough but i was out of it by that point.

THe only real bad part of the weekend was the traffic and the mud. we waited in at least 10 hours of traffic to enter the campgrounds and then another 2 or so waiting to actually camp. But once it was done it was a 3 day long party, can't go wrong with thta.
