Guest HartFan86 Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Austin tapped to Rock in the Sharpshooter the night after Mania 17, but the ref was down.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Shawn probably tapped like a bitch as a Rocker ..imean, submitted. tap Outs didnt exist in WWF/WCW til 1997. Also, Nash as Oz submitted to Bill Kazmier (or whatever) on a COTC or a PPV in 1991.
Guest Askewniverse Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Bret Hart has lost once to tapping out to Lex Luger on Nitro for the US title in 1998. I think that was his only tapping out loss. Bret lost at least two more times by submission. In the Nitro U.S. title match that you mentioned, he submitted to Luger's Torture Rack. As BionicRedneck already mentioned, Bret submitted to Luger at Halloween Havoc 1999 to a half boston crab. Bret also submitted to Sting's Scorpion Deathlock on the 10/18/99 episode of Nitro.
{''({o..o})''} Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 Didn't Bret Hart also tap at Suvivor Series '97 to Shawn Mic... What do you mean screwjob?
Guest Ray Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 The Rock only lost once by tapping out to Ken Shamrock at KOTR 98. Yeah, I know he lost to Ken by the Ankle Lock at RR and WM, but those decisions got reversed so they don't count, right? Rock also tapped to BENOIT~!!!!!!! before Summerslam 2002. It was Rock/Edge vs Benoit/Guerrero. Lesnar came down and stared at Rock while he was in the crossface.
Guest SethforPrez840 Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 Benoit also made Nash tap on Nitro late-99, but it didnt end the match because Hall attacked the ref before he could ring the bell.
Lil' Bitch Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 As BionicRedneck already mentioned, Bret submitted to Luger at Halloween Havoc 1999 to a half boston crab. He lost to a HALF Boston Crab?!! WTF Bret also submitted to Sting's Scorpion Deathlock on the 10/18/99 episode of Nitro. So you mean to tell me Bret has lost to Sting? I thought Sting never beat him. (WWC from 99 to 2001 is all fuzzy to me). Rock also tapped to BENOIT~!!!!!!! before Summerslam 2002. SHIT, how could I forget?
Guest JHawk Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 Hogan actually submitted twice to Luger. 6/9/97 (non-title) and 8/4/97 (for the title). I remember 8/4/97 vividly because even referee Randy Anderson seemed in total shock that Hogan submitted.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 Speaking of Nash selling. For those that bitched about RVD's selling against HHH a few weeks, take a look at Nash's match against Jericho last night. At least RVD sold the leg, I'll admit it was spotty but, at least he sold it. Nash didn't even make an effort to sell the leg. Nash just got up and walked as if nothing happened. Nash is not going to sell his legs throughout a match. It makes sense for his opponents to attack them, but they already hinder his performance enough when he's going at a normal pace. Nash powerbombs Midajah. Flair decks the referee. Nash tries to pull Flair in but BPP low blows Nash. BPP hits Nash with brass nuckles and then with a chair. A second referee comes out. BPP puts Nash in the steiner recliner for the submission. Nash's career is over. What the hell? Dude, I could've sweared to God I seen him on Raw a couple times last month. I'm very sure I might be wrong about what I type below this, but if you can correct me that would appreciative since most of my wrestling memory is glitchy. Kevin Nash being either Diesel or Nash has never lost a match through submission by tapping out. He did lose a match to Scott Steiner at WCW Superbrawl Revenge through submission, but he "passed out" instead. Maybe your memory would be less glitchy if you read the post where the instance of Nash tapping to Sid was brought up. Yup, that happened. Three-way cage match, with Don Harris stuck in there to tip the playing field. It was right after Benoit left, so Sid was temporarily employing the Crossface as a finisher. Nash was with the nWo at the time, and I think he had the commissioner role. Whole match was punching, kicking, and smashing people up against the cage. Sid only did a chokeslam, big boot (if you want to differentiate that from kicking) and the Crossface. Nash might've gotten a sideslam in there near the end. EDIT: I don't think Nash ever lost a match by tapping out. The match with Steiner was a pass out. You edited your post for the sake of redundancy, but I think you kind of missed the boat.
Guest Askewniverse Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 As BionicRedneck already mentioned, Bret submitted to Luger at Halloween Havoc 1999 to a half boston crab. He lost to a HALF Boston Crab?!! WTF Bret losing to a half crab actually made sense at the time. During the 10/18/99 Sting-Bret match, Luger hit Bret's leg with a baseball bat. Sting applied the Scorpion Deathlock, and Bret tapped out. At Halloween Havoc, Luger worked on Bret's injured leg, which is why Bret tapped out to a half crab.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 I haven't seen it, but doesn't Bret submit in the Ironman Match in Boston against Flair?
Guest godthedog Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 I haven't seen it, but doesn't Bret submit in the Ironman Match in Boston against Flair? yup, to the figure four. twice.
Lil' Bitch Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 At Halloween Havoc, Luger worked on Bret's injured leg, which is why Bret tapped out to a half crab. I know, but I'm used to somebody tapping out to a regular Boston Crab. Beating them with it halfway just makes the loss seem...humiliating. That's like tapping out to an armbar, a headlock, a bear hug, or some other minor submission you'd never expect people to tap out to. thought Flair never beat Bret or was that just TV-wise? It has also been brought to my attention that the Undertaker has NEVER lost by tapping out. Is this true?

Didn't Lance Storm make some people tap out to the Half Crab in WCW?

Beating them with it halfway just makes the loss seem...humiliating. I see your point, but there's a slight difference between a boston crab and a half-crab. A boston crab is supposed to affect an opponent's back, while a half-crab is supposed to affect the leg that it's applied on. thought Flair never beat Bret or was that just TV-wise? TV-wise. Flair beat Bret by count-out in a match that's available on Invasion '92.

Guest Askewniverse Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 Nope, but he did lose a fall to a sleeper.
J. Hungerford Smith Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 Nash didn't even make an effort to sell the leg. Since when did Nash make an effort to do ANYTHING?
Guest EdwardKnoxII Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 Since when did Nash make an effort to do ANYTHING? Hold people down and help kill WCW.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 Nash didn't even make an effort to sell the leg. Since when did Nash make an effort to do ANYTHING? Well, when he was Oz, he did work pretty hard.

Bret continued to sell the injury throughout the world title tournament. The day after Havoc, I saw him face Goldberg in the first round and - at least from the way Bret was limping - it was one of his biggest wins, IMO (outside interference or not).
Detective Comics Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Well, if Shawn hasn't tapped out in ten years it sure seems sort of special to me. How? He hasn't wrestled at least 4 of the last 10 years, and I would be surprised if he's had more then 20 matches since he came back.
Guest Beingz0wningj00 Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Shawn also tapped to the Sharpshooter at Survivor's 1993... with the rest of the 3 Knights... not before getting a pinfall over Owen though.
Guest godthedog Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 Shawn also tapped to the Sharpshooter at Survivor's 1993... with the rest of the 3 Knights... not before getting a pinfall over Owen though. no he didn't. all his partners got eliminated, and he just walked away, losing by countout.
Guest Beingz0wningj00 Posted August 2, 2003 Report Posted August 2, 2003 doh... well I thought it was a submission... must be thinking of the times Bret made Jerry tap... ah well.
Guest Deviant Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 For the record, a tap out should only count if it officially ends the match via submission, in my mind anyway. For those that don't think that way, Benoit made Rock tape about 5 times in 2000, not just in the SS 02 build.
