Guest DarthLordOfWrestling Report post Posted July 29, 2003 I know that the first Lord of the Rings mmovie came on DVD a little late. Well at least if you wait for speacial edition Gift Set. The Two towers hasn't even come out with the original version. So when is that going to come out. Anyone knows. I can't wait any longer.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 30, 2003 The 4 disc extended version set will probably be November or December. I won't even bother with the first release.

Guest Ripper Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Is there even really anything worth a damn on the extended disc worth me waiting for. I refused to buy the extended one of the first one...well..just because. What did they fill up 3 other disc with. And wasn't there a 6 disc set?
The Dames 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Is there even really anything worth a damn on the extended disc worth me waiting for. I refused to buy the extended one of the first one...well..just because. What did they fill up 3 other disc with. And wasn't there a 6 disc set? Let's see...an added 30 minutes integrated into the actual movie that fleshes out the characters even more. The movie is spread over 2 discs. There are FOUR audio commentaries on it. The other two discs have tons of documentaries and extras that the first did not. It was only a 4 disc set. Dames

Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Let's put it this way, in the first Extended Lord Of The Rings (That would be: Fellowship), you apparently get to hear Frodo get told the tale of the Hobbit. Thusly, that also answers some questions you might've gotten from #2.

The 5th disc was just this National Geographic behind the scenes thing. It was interesting.

Guest Grand Slam Report post Posted August 1, 2003 Even though I got blasted for this in another, similar, thread, I feel it is only right to point out that nothing overlaps between the two editions. Which is to say, there is a different version of the movie on both, and all of the special features are different. Peter Jackson has said they crafted them that way so consumers and fans wouldn't be out anything if they bought both versions. In effect, if you got everything offered, "Fellowship" was a 7 disc Special Edition.
