Garth 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2003 The UK Wrestling Channel has been given the green light for a launch in October. The Wrestling Channel will air as part of the Sky Digital service and will be free view, as long as viewers are subscribed to the Sky Digital service. The channel will air programming from NWA-TNA, Combat Zone Wrestling, The UK's Frontier Wrestling Alliance, Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling NOAH, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, Irish Whip Wrestling, XWF, CMLL, UPW and Women's Extreme Wrestling. Also airing on the station are RF Video Shoot Interviews, and classic episodes of UWF, Mid-Atlantic, Memphis, Florida, as well as British Wrestling from ITV's World Of Sport archives. In addition, there will be a Classic Wrestling Superstars series featuring an assortment of 52 episodes of name talent in other promotions. There is still no sign of any WWE programs scheduled air on the new channel. Quoted from themayhem.com So it looks like its a count down to October now, only 61 days until october first and counting! I can't wait to get all this wrestling for free, no more having to order tapes off the internet, although i do think i will need to stock up on blank tapes. Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 31, 2003 Ok so who will buy that Panosonic DVD Recorder with TIVO and start a DVD-R site on the internet? If Direct TV or Dish Network offers this in USA, I will have to change my cable provider.
Garth 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2003 I really think with this channel coming along that it may be worth investing in Sky Plus so i can have all the really good shows i want saved to my tv. Anyone now how much Sky Plus is going for these days?
Guest caboose Report post Posted August 3, 2003 Damn. I've got to switch from ntl Digital to Sky Digital NOW!
monkey 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 I am with Telewest and this news just makes me want to be on Sky. If this channel if it does take off it would be a great way of seeing non WWE wrestling in this country.
Garth 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 Damn right it'll be a great way of seeing non WWE wrestling. Although i'm not sure how much this is going to screw over tape traders in England, as pretty much everyone will just record off this station instead of buying. Although i could be wrong. Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted August 10, 2003 Sky Plus is £250 to get installed and then an extra £10 a month thereafter.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 My VCR's gonna be fucked after this. Apparantly the channel's running from 2 p.m until midnight seven days a week. Which is 70 hours of wrestling a WEEK. On top of Raw, Smackdown, Heat and NWA Worldwide Classics, that's 76 hours a week. Oh well, roll on October!!!
Guest MissMattitude Report post Posted August 12, 2003 I absolutely cannot wait for October to come along.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted August 14, 2003 The channel may be delayed until 2004.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2003 The channel may be delayed until 2004. *smacks head with newspaper* ....no.
caboose 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2003 I can wait until 2004... It gives me more time to raise the cash for Sky Digital. That way I don't spend money that was meant to go on food and rent.
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted August 16, 2003 Where did the 2004 story come from?
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted August 17, 2003 It came from Mike Johnson. There was NEVER a stated start date either - somehow September / October was assumed. Oh, and it will run from 2pm - midnight.
