Guest Steviekick Report post Posted July 31, 2003 from blabbermouth.net EAR FACTORY To Sign New Record Deal, Album Due In Early 2004 - July 31, 2003 The reformed FEAR FACTORY — now consisting of Christian Olde Wolbers (guitar/bass), Raymond Herrera (drums), and Burton C. Bell (vocals) — are strongly rumored to be on the verge of signing a new record deal with the Los Angeles-based D3 Entertainment (INSANE CLOWN POSSE, OL' DIRTY BASTARD, and MACK 10 offshoot group DA HOOD), BLABBERMOUTH.NET can exclusively reveal. The group are expected to enter the studio in late summer/early fall to begin recording the follow-up to 2001's "Digimortal", tentatively due in early 2004. Among the tracks set to appear on the as-yet-untitled effort are the four songs demoed last year prior to the band's split with Roadrunner Records: "Slave Labor", "Corporate Cloning", "Archetype", and "Bite The Hand That Feeds". FEAR FACTORY unceremoniously split in early March 2002 after announcing the departure of Bell, whose personality clashes with guitarist and founding member Dino Cazares proved to be too much for the frontman to handle, eventually forcing him to leave the group. Subsequent interviews with Cazares and Herrera (Interview#1, Interview#2) revealed deep-rooted differences between the other members and Dino, who has since announced plans to launch an as-yet-unnamed new project with ex-LIQUID GANG singer --------------------- it'll be so odd seeing an FF record not on Roadrunner. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted July 31, 2003 I like Fear Factory alot but "Digimortal" blew. Still Replica and Cars are two of my favorite songs so I'll most definetly give this album a listen.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted August 1, 2003 I thought Demanufacture was a great hybrid album.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2003 I thought Demanufacture was a great hybrid album. It was also the last good album that FF recorded.
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted August 1, 2003 Digimortal has to be among some of the worst metal albums by bands that could do much better.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted August 1, 2003 Obsolete was very good, Brunzell. Just look past "Descent," which even itself ain't too bad. It's no Demanufacture, or even Soul Of A New Machine...but at least it's not a remix album or Digimortal.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2003 I wasn't a big fan of Obselete. It wasn't terrible by any stretch, but it just wasn't to my liking. Although I still mark-out for the re-make of "Cars."
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 1, 2003 Soul of a New Machine is a really raw-sounding cd that I really like quite a bit. It's not as "ooh-aah" techno silliness as their later stuff, but they still include some excellent samples.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted August 1, 2003 I always liked the song "Edgecrusher". A good background song to beat up people who are different..
