I went at the 4:20 show today, the $4.25 special, in town and there weren't many people there. Of course, they had it on two screens playing all day long so offten. I've enjoyed both, with the first serving more of a purpose, while the second one just being for laughs, which makes me wonder where this one will fall. Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted August 2, 2003 Just got back from it and I must say, I found it to be much better than the second and on par with the first, only because the first had such a strong and meaningful point to it. They mixed up a lot of humor with some serious moments (for this franchise, anyway). Some definite grossout moments with Stifler to say the least and I'm sure that anyone who saw the movie can back me up on that. I found myself laughing at a lot of things just because these characters have grown on me over the years. Not sure if they'll go for another one, but there's really not a point to it. In a big trim down move, the producers didn't bring Klein back and cut out all of the female characters (including the useless Shannon "Naked Chick" Elizabeth) save for Alyson Hannigan's character and the chick who plays Stifler's mom... Even so, it's still a great movie but I didn't really find it to be a great conclusion to the series, which means there will be a sequel, and I won't mind that at all. This American Pie franchise is like a repeating record, the same gags over and over again. This stuff was funny in 1999, but not anymore. Actually three sequels: American Baby- Jim and Michelle conceive a child while Stifler knocks up a girl and has to prepare to be the child's father American Divorce- Jim cheats on Michelle and gets caught, triggering a mamoth divorce of epic proportion while Stifler marries and divorces his kid's mom and tries to get custody of his kid American Funeral: Jim's mom dies or one of the other MIA characters dies and everyone gathers for the funeral as hillarity ensues As for Stifler, I don't think he can carry a movie on his own. Plus movie spin-offs usually don't work that well, which means that SWS might not be so willing to do so when he can do other projects (movie and film) where he can play characters similar to Stifler without having to take the risk of having a huge bomb on his hands. AP3 has an actual story to it instead of it being a cheap sequel with a non-plot plot. 2. American Pie 3 is Jim and Michelle's wedding. Anyway, I heard a rumor a couple of months after AP2 came out that part 3 might not haven't been made because all the actors were asking for too much money. All the minor character didn't make it, but they served their purpose in the previous movie. Guest shlidgn90 Report post Posted August 5, 2003 american wedding was terrible beyond belief. stiffler was oz's best friend, not the other guys. they could have at least mentioned him. most of the big scenes that were hilarious in the first two films were now just potty humor. most of the only people left were people who know their careers are dead after the series ends. the only bright spot was steve from better luck tomorrow had more lines. Kevin was pretty nonextisent, except when he got shutdown trying to give another speech. Stiffler was actually entertaining as hell.
