Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted August 2, 2003 (edited) So, anyone else watching it? I was very suprised to see this on at 2 am, but hey, what the heck. Pennington has looked impressive so far, 4/4 for 60 yards. He made a long completion to Curtis COnway, who looks like he's fitting into Lav Coles' shoes. 3rd play of the game, Warren Sapp completely stuffs Lamont Jordan behind the line of scrimmage. Then he does this little japanese-style bow to the crowd. Typical Sapp. Ah, football. How I missed thee. Edited August 2, 2003 by LaParkaMarka

Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted August 2, 2003 I'll start paying attention on September 7th. I have a great disdain for pre-season anything... in this case football.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted August 2, 2003 I bow to you, LaParkaMarka. Bow to me as well. The ONLY reason I'm up so late.

Guest bravesfan Report post Posted August 2, 2003 I have a great disdain for pre-season anything... in this case football. Each year, I get pre-season football out of my system with the American Bowl. It's the only preseason-anything I can handle. It gets me hyped for the season. Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted August 2, 2003 Silly Thomas Jones. Doesn't he know he's supposed to suck? It would be pretty funny if he blossomed into a decent player after leaving Arizona though. Poor Arizona.

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted August 2, 2003 I'm not feelin' it. I seriously try to get hype for preseason stuff every year, reminding myself how it's a sign that football is returning and I should be all excited and stuff, but I really don't get into the spirit until I see college and professionals on the same weekend, one after the other. Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted August 2, 2003 Blahaha. Simms got the crap sacked out of him. And that one announcer just keeps giving him the verbal blowjob.
Bored 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2003 I'll start paying attention on September 7th. I have a great disdain for pre-season anything... in this case football. I agree 100%. Its too long, I mean why in the world do you need as many as five games to get your team ready? The only time it ever really means anything is when a star player goes down to injury. Over the years I just would absolutlely cringe everytime I'd see Joe Montana, Steve Young, and now Jeff Garcia take a big hit in a meaningless preseason game. Seriously is there any reason to play any preseason game on astroturf? The worst thing of all about preseason are people actually analyzing and trying to put some meaning into preseason. Oh no my playoff team lost 31-7...SEASON IS OVER!!! Hey my 1-15 team from last year won 27-13 against a playoff team...WE'RE WINNING IT ALL BABY!!!
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 2, 2003 Last year the Redskins won all of the Preseason games by collage blowout standards.......it was a diff story in the regular season. The coach pissed off one too many opponets in the preseason and payed for it when it counted.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 2, 2003 Steve Spurier thought his Fun N Gun would work in the NFL with the expansive minor league team known as the Redskins. The only thing good about the pre season is that you could watch the progress of the young players and pray that noone gets hurt by the over aggressive defense. Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 3, 2003 Anyways I caught Woody Paige suggesting getting rid of these 4 game exhibition sessions and just have two pre-season games and going with an 18 game schedule... Works for me
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2003 I dunno... how do you think the players would hold up playing an 18-game schedule? Some of them don't hold up all that well, even with the current 16-game schedule. Honestly, I think they need to leave the current number of games as is, and maybe consider reducing the number of exhibition games.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 4, 2003 Yeah 5 is too much. Preseason is good for getting a look and getting into the groove of the season, as well as for coaches to prepare for it, but 2 would be fine. Maybe one at the beginning of August and one at the end...
