Guest Crucifixio Jones Report post Posted August 3, 2003 Finally. But as always HBO's asking price is way too high for the content they actually provide. Yeah, you can get it nearly 20-30 dollars cheaper than $100 depending on where you go, but that's still too high for what you get. I look at boxed sets like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Sheild and 24 and they are half the price and have more than twice the episodes (22-24 as opposed to 13) The Sopranos have every season and the DVDs have more extras which, face it, is why people BUY DVDs. Off-topic, WHEN THE FUCK is Twin Peaks: Season Two coming out, IF EVER?
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted August 3, 2003 You see Sopranos in most stores for $80...maybe a little less when they first come out. I can understand a higher price on the HBO shows. It's a premium station and all. But $80 is a lot for 13 hours of tv. And Oz is $50 for 8 hours. They each come to a little over $6 an hour that way...which seems way too much. Unlike the very reasonably priced Buffy
Guest Crucifixio Jones Report post Posted August 3, 2003 Being a premium station is NO reason or justification to raise the price of your DVDs. When the product hits the shelves, it's all the same, there is no premium television shows section and network television area in any store I've been in. If they want to charge premium prices, maybe they should try putting out some premium fucking discs. Until then, I'll pay for HBO and get fucked through Comcast, not AGAIN through Best Buy or Circuit City or wherever else I choose to buy my DVDs. We should fucking boycott. Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted August 3, 2003 So, I take it the previous season sets aren't worth it? I was thinking of picking them up, now I'm not sure.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted August 4, 2003 Try picking them up 2nd hand. I personally wouldn't pay $80 a pop
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2003 Ughh......If you don't want to buy it, then don't. Just please don't complain. The prices will not lower. The Sopranos is an excellent show in my oppinion, and the prices are not that bad. I just bought the 1st and 2nd season for $80 each and I don't feel as if Iwas ripped off. I have also purchased the Shield, which by the way, is ONLY 13 episodes no more, for $40. I feel $40 is a good price for the buyer but the show is WORTH more in my mind.
