Should I change it to defense players? Possible change will be something like this.

4 DL

4 DB

2 D

Solo tackle = 1 point

Sack = 2 points

INT = 2 points

Pass Defended = 1 point

Safty = 2 points

Block Kick = 3 points

TD = 6 points

I'm going to say just play with team defenses. I've played individual players and it wasnt too bad, but it really makes the draft take a lot longer and team defenses work out just as well. The only problem is the skill of taking players who will perform on defense is taken out but I'm OK with that.

I am considering defense players because it gives a team with an average offense a chance to redeem themselves with star Linebackers who will go out and get 100+ solo tackles which would translate into 3-7 points a week per defender.

Also using individual defense players there is no chance of getting negative points on defense. If your team defense gives up 28+ in a game then that translates into negative points.

My problem with Defensive players is there is just so much unknown and uncontrollable to it. Like you can plan to draft a top RB and expect certain numbers, but if you draft a top CB then you might get nothing because no one throws toward his side, and top DEs can get run away from or triple teamed.

By the way I once did an XFL draft (yes, Sandbox ran an XFL league) and they drafted individual defensive players. Needless to say that was a disaster. I did win the league though (the awesome strategy of "I heard of this guy, I'll take him")

I did the XFL league too.

I say that individual players on defense is a good thing, if only to avoid having to draft players with funny names in the late rounds.

What I do in drafting defense players is go after players who get 90+ solo tackles, linebackers are the best players to go after. But in the crazy world of Yahoo linebackers are counted as DL.

Never count of the player rankings of Yahoo as you will get screwed if you trust them. Hell they put Frank Sanders ahead of several good WRs and would rank a player who has 3 or 4 tackles ahead of a player who has 80+ solo tackles.

I'm not in your guys league, but I'm assuming you're doing it on Yahoo. If so, and you want individual D players, I suggest have the D be 5 defensive players of any position. It's like the utility spots in fantasy baseball.. you can take 5 lb...5 dl... 2 dl-2 dl-safety, etc. It is really fun, and its only 5 extra draft picks per team
