Elimination Chamber

Recommended Posts

Guest Slapnuts00

So what's everyone's opinion of the switching of the Summerslam RAW main event from HHH/Goldberg to the 6 way Elimination Chamber? I can understand the move at least. Sure, WWE looks like boneheads after promoting a big press conference to announce Goldberg/HHH but expecting a nearly crippled HHH to carry Goldberg to something watchable is not possible. This way they have more time for planning and HHH to get healed for the big 1 on 1 match.

It will be a big clusterfuck, sure but I have a feeling they'll put it in the middle of the show or at least second to last so they can have Angle/Brock finish the show strong.

At least half the workers in there can provide a good match. I think the structure of the match will help cover everyone's weaknesses.

Remember 4 people start the match in those little glass cages. I say Michaels and Jericho start the match since theyre the most competent and capable of carrying the bulk of the match. Nash comes in for his flurry of offense and can be quickly eliminated thus not exposing him. HHH and Goldberg are the final 2 to enter and in a perfect world should be the last 2. They really wouldn't have to be in the match more than 5 minutes.

Im gonna make a bold prediction and say Goldberg pins HHH clean to win the World Title.

This makes sense for HHH politically since he can say he did the job to Goldberg (yet all the other people in the match will take some of the edge off), not be in there long enough to be exposed and then theoretically the next month at Unforgiven would get the one on one match with Goldberg and beat him. He can have a win in their only one on one encounter and this way there does not have to be a rematch since Goldberg had his little insignificant run (with the insignificant belt mind you) and then HHH gets it back in the end.

Anyway those are my thoughts. Yours?

It sucks. It wasn't very good last time. It's gonna be worse this time. Plus, now there is the chance that Randy Orton could be our new world champ.

Who fucking cares? It's not like that's the WWE title. I think of it more as a secondary title anyway. And I see no chance of that. Either HHH retains or more likely Goldberg wins it. It sets up Goldberg/HHH for Unforgiven. Orton/Michales and Nash/Jericho (hair vs. hair) too on that show which needs more 1 on 1s to fill the all RAW show.

Considering the quality of wrestling involved, they should have put Steiner in instead of HBK and plunked in Test and Rosie to make it a Chamber of Horrors match.

I like it in the sense it prevents Three sucky matches (for the time being) and meshing it into one that could be entertaining in the Political Mind Games Disecting sense.

It allows for a couple more spots to be opened up...

Speaking of opening up more slots, let's say each brand has 4 matches. RAW has...

-Elimination Chamber

-RVD vs. Kane

-Dudleys vs. La Resistance

Do they give the final spot to Booker T and an IC title match or do a Women's Title match (Molly vs. Trish vs. Kim vs. Victoria is a strong possibility). I'm thinking they go with the women and Im serious. They at least have some sort of storyline going there. Booker is DOA. I mean how many bad matches with Christian can he have? Who else is there anyway? Test? Rodney Mack?

Well, I think the EC will definitely be better than injured HHH vs. Goldberg, that's for sure. I'm just worried that the EC will take up too much time and take away time from other matches.

The first one wasn't a great match, but it was decent. The first one sure had better workers over this one, though. As stated in every other thread, Jericho is basically going to have to carry everyone, except maybe HBK.

For a winner, at this point I'm picking Jericho. Everyone seems worried that Orton is gonna win, but come on... I don't think WWE is that stupid to put the title on a very green Orton. Hell, he just came back from injury a little over a month ago. Nash, is the most unlikely to win, especially because he'll be jobbing to Jericho in the hair match soon anyway. HBK already won the first EC, and he can use that to brag leading up to the PPV. I don't think they'd put the title on him, again. I'm guessing that Goldberg has the best shot at winning due to obvious reasons. I just hope he screws up backstage more leading to the PPV so maybe Vince will make him lose. HHH has a slight chance of winning, but how much longer can he go with the injured groin? A Jericho win would give back a lot of credibility. He's the most over heel on RAW right now, and I see no reason why he shouldn't be given a run.

I'll make a prediction that Goldberg spears someone through the "bullet-proof" glass, too.

They seem to be setting up for two 4 Way Dances

Book Vs Test Vs X Vs Steiner

and

Trish Vs Gail Vs Molly Vs Victoria...

I doubr Vince has ANY desire to put the belt on him now...

Jericho's chances increased greatly the second Goldberg said "No" to vince.

I've come to realize that whether or not you recognize it as being as important, it actually is the Raw equivilant of the SD! title, and therefore is as important.

Just wanted to get that off my flabby, hairy chest.

Important in the IC title sense, to me at least. WWE title is the only one that holds any importance and credibility to me.

I really think that going to the Elimination Chamber for a main event at Summerslam is a pretty good idea. That way matches like Orton/HBK, Goldberg/HHH, Nash/Jericho (a longer than RAW style one), and any other way of mixing up the seven can be saved up for the next PPV. I guess it shows some planning for the future.

Planning for the future?

It was done spur of the moment to keep HHH from jobbing...Keep HHH from wrestling a full match...Keep Goldberg from getting the title..

It's not like they went

"All right guys...For two weeks we're gonna hype A singles Match with the supposedly BIGGEST DREAM MATCH EVER and then abort it for a 6 man Match in the ELimination chamber"

I like the Elimination Chamber because its so horribly comedic and game-show like. I agree that its good because it will cover HHH's injury but they really need to put some better workers in there. If it was me, I'd take out Orton and Nash and put RVD and Kane in there, to make it play up with the whole monster Kane story. I know Kanes not the best worker, but I'd put the title on him and have him go on a monster heel title reign. Either that or have Jericho win it, cause you can't go wrong there.

It may not be long term planning, but at least they still have angles/matches saved for the next Raw PPV

I'm betting the Orton goes for a high cross body off the top, fucks up and ends up hitting HHH in the windpipe.

Works for me...Throw in Orton breaking his ribs (he already did in his arms and legs)..

Since Nash will already be Jobbed out...

That means JERICHO/HBK can Play...or Goldberg double spears and pins them both...

If you put RVD/Kane instead of Orton/Nash, it would be the SAME MATCH as the First and Only Elimination Chamber match, except someone has to play Booker T, that being Goldberg. (UGH)

PLEASE GIVE JERICHO THE BELT! I'M BEGGING ON MY KNEES!

the elimination chamber sucks a dick. with the "bulletproof glass" compartments and the huge chains, it looks like someone with the mentality of a 10-year-old made it. it was obviously NOT designed with the purpose of working a match in mind. there's nothing interesting you can do with the structure, and when you try to do something interesting you injure somebody. a 6-pack HIAC would've been so much better than this half-million dollar, stainless steel turd.

I'd have prefered that they made it a Survivor Series exclusive and found some other way to cover up HHH's injuries, and if they had to use the EC, they could've found someone other than Orton, Michaels and Nash to throw in there.

With that being said, I almost want Shawn to win so that he can cleanly job to Jericho in a rubber match sometime down the line...but there are all kinds of problems with that scenario so I dunno. If they intend to put the belt on Kane eventually, then Goldberg would probably be the best choice to go over.

Well...The fans wouldn't dig a Normal Six Man...

HIAC was JUST used...

What did you want?

An Six Way Ladder Match?

I can't think of an existing Gimmick match they could use...

E.C just might have been the best choice

As far as who Booker T defends the belt against at SS, why not just have him face Ric Flair. At least it'd be a better match than say vs. Test or vs. Christian(if I see another Booker vs Christian match I'm gonna stick knitting needles in my eyes).

that would be the Chamber of Horrors...

Why couldn't Vince just steal the Triple Cage?

Vince:Triple Cage? WCW? Hell no!

Shane: Well it was in a movie...

Vince: It was? WE MAKE MOVIES...BRING OUT THE TRIPLE CAGE!

I have a feeling they'll put it in the middle of the show or at least second to last so they can have Angle/Brock finish the show strong.

I would have thought that this is very unlikely to happen. Six of the biggest names on raw in a gimmick match that was hyped to shit last november... there's no way they'll let (read: Vince will let) an actual wrestling match headline over the EC.

I'm not entirely sure I want Jericho to win this one actually... he's having a pretty good run as a heel right now, and the way I see it: a) the title needs a face run, even just for a couple of months.

and b) I'd rather wait for Jericho's eventual turn before he has a run...which could be something special (it could hardly be worse than his last title run). Problem is, who else is going to win?

HHH - depends on the injury. I'm not ruling him out, but it's unlikely.

Nash - no way. Even McMahon can see the fans won't like this one bit.

Orton - stranger things have happened, we might just get a huge swerve... the fact he's with HHH could well come into play here.

HBK - he won the last one, so no...far too predictable. I hope.

Goldberg - don't know why everyone's been ruling him out, he'd be my second pick after Y2J. After all, he's been on a roll, he's the only face with a realistic chance... a lot of people have said his in-ring stuff sucks...but who's been the champ for the best part of a year?

yeah but Goldberg has been called a Disapoinment by all the McMahons and hasn't done so mcuh except pop a couple ratings...which Kane doubled anyways...

Goldberg, aside from creative control...has no ground to stand on with Vince
